A wholesome end. It's sad it ended, but we shall be happy that this series was here with us.
When I saw the picture of Gramps in the heart-shaped frame, My heart dropped thinking he had passed during the time skip. That epilogue and side stories better be incredible... But I'm happy with the ending, Gojo and Marin are married, he's become a celebrated Hina Doll artist, and Marin's modeling career has taken off. All in all, it's a good ending like Nagatoro's finale...

Damn, marriage off screen, we didn't even see the hina doll gojo made, this finale is ass and completely out of the blue.

edit: gramps photo baited me

100% axe-kun got involved. Things got dragged out like crazy for over a year and then it sort of just ended?
I’m pretty sure that the manga didn’t get axed, but rather the mangaka wanted to end the serialization, considering we are still getting epilogue and side story.

Feels weird finishing a series I've been reading for so many years, it was a bumpy ride at times but overall I enjoyed it, and I'm a bit sad to see it go.

Thanks a bunch to the TL team, y'all do great work

damn. I don't really know what to feel? it feels as if the last quarter of chapters or so couldve been something more. idk, it just feels so unsatisfying as an end to an otherwise amazing run. still, it was amazing while it lasted.

It's sad that it ended but at least it knew when to end before it got terrible. There were some rough parts but overall a fun ride.

Pretty unsatisfying, I’ll admit it. But the vibes for this series have always just been "comfy" if anything, so having some kind of grand closing arc wouldn’t have really made much sense. They resolved everything with the confession arc and everything else has just been epilogue. Don’t get me wrong, I prefer it when a series gives us a satisfying amount of time of the main couple finally being a couple but unfortunately 90% of series don’t do that so it’s par for the course.
I can see this playing out way better in an anime setting where they’d probably pace it to where the confession happens in the penultimate episode and literally just run through the rest of the chapters as a quick epilogue finale episode. Like this last chapter is effectively a single scene that’d play out in like 2 minutes of an episode. What makes this worse is waiting on a monthly release for scraps of a story that just fizzles out.

You realize there will not be a second season anime. It takes a lot of effort from the author to assist with production.

ah well, it's alright i guess. Missing plot points that I would LOVE to have explored aside, this is... really, just alright. Not much in the line of cosplay nor Wakana's dolls, but more so just that "oh they got married" as a sort of gift to the readers so they don't riot as bad. Fair enough.

I suppose, reading through these comments, I get why the author would wrap it all up suddenly even if her health wasn't an issue.

This was a cosplay/doll manga about two passionate people supporting each other, at its core. The romance was always a B plot. I buy the volumes, I read all the author notes about all the dedicated research put into all the hobby subject matter. The long struggle about the correct material and the pitfalls of perfectionism were all part of that.

But all I'm reading is people upset about all the boring cosplay stuff getting in the way of the romance and that makes me sad.

"Not outstaying it's welcome" when the most recent arcs had set up a multitude of plot threads (StormSen made a pretty good list several pages back). It was just amping up again for something big.

My disappointment is complicated. I'm sad it's over so suddenly, I don't expect the epilogue will really do much to change that.

TL;DR It's a shame the hobby manga ended like the romance was the focus all along.

That’s basically the only thing I’m disappointed by because I hoped he was going to start making gyaru/cosplay hina dolls

If they were going to do a timeskip chapter I think the best thing to do would’ve been the wedding. It would have romance, all the side characters in attendance, and one last outfit of Marin in a wedding dress created by Gojo. They could’ve referenced Gojo being a successful at making Hina dolls now and that would’ve been sufficient. The best art we got was of the food. The previous chapter was more like the last chapter and this was more like epilogue. Hokkaido Girls ending was much better.
