A few chapters in. It appears to be a cute, lighthearted manga about the coming-of-age struggles of Kana, a post high school graduate unintentionally becoming a NEET, and her interactions with the people in her life that are already contributing to society and the workforce. As a Millennial with anxiety and depression I'm not sure if I find this work uplifting exactly (I *wish* the society I lived in was a kind and supportive as the one in this book...), but I definitely relate to this girl and her everyday plights.

It was cute and at the same time addressed a lot of the issues that people fave when transitioning into the workforce. Unfortunately, Kanae was too passive and lazy for me to really enjoy her journey. Although I think it's nice that her family was supportive, that didn't motivate her to move forward...and when she did move forward, it was in such a unremarkable way that it didn't seem to affect the story at all. There were no real challenges or ups and downs.

This manga has good memes. If I ever stop being a NEET, and get kids who turn into NEETs, I spam them with these 4koma strips until they git a job. Based Boomer Mama BTFOs her daughter on the daily. Not ero enough to fap to like Neeko. Young adults are drawn like elementary schoolers. If 20-somethings think of themselves as elementary kids then I worry for the psychological stability of glorious Nippon. Also spoiler alert, Kana-Chan betrays her fellow NEETs and gets a job. This is pro-work propaganda. She spends the rest of the manga spreading lies about how working is better than NEETing. These are lies my fellow brethren, do not be lured by her siren song. Outside the confines of your room is hell. Tough bosses, bully coworkers, chaotic customers and more wait around every corner to devour your soul. Better to stay within the safety of your room and pray to get Isekai'd.

While not exactly great material, this manga related a lot of its themes to me personally.
It was depressing, comedic, yet each chapter almost always ended up on a light tone.
It's just about seeing the little light in the dark tunnel.

After I graduated from high school, I was still living with my single mother and my older sister. I wasn't interested in work; I thought maybe if I slaved away four more years in college I could live out my life writing stories. Just like Kanae, my first part-time job was practically handed to me by a family member, but the job eventually let me go. Months of rejection followed, enough to discourage me from applying seriously. My job hunt was spent just like Kanae's - sometimes I would be super into it and other times whatever small thing I did was good enough that day. A few months eventually turned into two years, with every few months having me renew the job hunt only to give up after several unsuccessful job interviews and many online rejections. Fortunately, I eventually found myself work and I quit my NEET status. That was good. You know, sometimes I do miss being unemployed, but I know I never did anything productive - that life was rather gloomy and routine. A lot of people in my life have been good to me, so now it's time I start being good to them. But yeah, happy sappy ending. I know.

I haven't read much material that was dedicated to a slice-of-life story about a NEET dealing with the anxiety of job-searching, family expectations, and envy, so this will be my first.
I hope others who find this work will also find something they can relate to.

I really appreciate when people put their personal crap in spoilers, because no one cares about that: you're not interesting, your experiences aren't unique and that's okay. What isn't okay tho is spamming the comment sections of topical pieces with obnoxious emotional exhibitionism, which for whatever reasons happens almost universally with dweebos.

Kudos for not doing that.

...

Cool introspective slow burn sol manga, little bit like Toume Kei works but better, because even when nothing's happening, this title still has its central issue lurking in the background. Seems like the author's appeal, because she appears to write this type of casually paced stories exclusively: even when demon lords and heroes are involved, there's no real sense of urgency for the characters to act.

It was a harsh comment, but it doesn't bother me enough. Admittedly sometimes I do wonder about it. It's fine.
Cute manga btw.
