This chapter made me remember why I detest food chapters.
4 months for a meal.
Is annoying because the reason some manga, mainly isekai, get this kind of chapters is because the author had no idea of whatto do, they started watching TV, seen a food program and simply slapped what they had seen in the story.
I'm talking about the original novel author, as in the last decade a lot start coming from the website "let's become a novelist" where everyone can write their to be read and judged by others, the succesfull ones get a shot to a official adaptation.
As this novels are written by a someone venturing alone in the field they end up being affected by whatever is trending, and if the author gets a writer block it will slow down the pace, and they don't want that after making the reader see a new chapter every day, so they use food chapters to act as a filler.
When the web novel is adapted to paper and becomes a official light novel some parts can be changed, this kind of filler chapters is one of them, as on a book is a clear waste of ink.
If someone here checked JP light novels before the isekai shitavalanche they wouldn't find food chapters, at least not written so much in detail because at the time a meal was just that, a meal, or it was relevant to the plot with smething important happening, but surely not the MC reviewing the ingredients for a whole chapter (unless it was a novel made to talk about food).
