I mean it's a shonen manga, I don't really expect anyone to die at all. Dying doesn't make stories good anyway, themes, characters, and tones do, among many other things beyond just stuff that happens. So far I like the characters, they're fun and interesting. I'm not entirely clear on what the themes are, but it feels like it's about doing the things you want to do. A simple theme, but I feel it's handled and reinforced well. As for the tones, I think it's able to switch from comical to serious rather well. Lacile always brushes off the fact that he was built to be a hard soldier in a comedic fashion because that's just who he is, but in the last chapter we got to see how seriously it actually affected him as a person. I also think the artstyle fits the story well with how it captures the romanticism of going on adventures and seeing cool things with your friends, because that's just what the story is about (at least at first, seems like it's really starting to open up and explore some deeper ideas). Sure, it COULD focus more on the darkness Lacile's identity of a child soldier, Leana's restricted childhood and future, Lulu's amnesia, and the division of Ariadne's powers, but that's not the kind of story this is (and it's also probably restricted by the publisher).
I'll stop rambling now. In short: I like this story and I think it's fun.
