For all the people wondering, "Auserlesen" is both a verb and an adjective in German.

The verb means "to choose, to select".
The adjective means "exquisite"

I can see both working in this case, though the verb seems more fitting.

Auserlesen is also not the kind of verb you would use in daily discourse.
