Blergh, any space program with this many screw ups on one mission really needs to be shut down and built back up from the foundations. Now it just feels like it's trying to compete with The Martian.
I can't help but to think Mutta's dream on the plane about Hibito and Mutta being together on a space capsule hitting the earth because of tangled parachutes... It sure seems to be heading that way.

This series always felt like an expanded vision of the early moon missions. They also just made things work with brute force and a high error chance. Apollo 11 had an estimated successes chance of around 70% iirc. No one would do it that way today though.
