Biggest mystery here is page 4. Was she commenting on his sagging belly, or did she lift the belly sag and notice his balls were sagging?

I'm honestly surprised that Holo and Lawrence only had the one kid. You would expect them to have a few to have them help out around the Inn or something.
I never understood this either, the LN author really did their research on world building and both of the mains are smart pragmatic people.

It was of normal to have a bunch of kids for the free labor and in case a couple of them die to witchcraft or the plague.

You're right (other than the witchraft thing I guess) and this countinued well until the Industrial Revolution (still a thing in places like rural China) but that was mainly for families making their living from farming, not so much for city folk. The city is where' you find grand bath houses like pictured here during the medieval or renaissance periods - this whole idea of an isolated village hosting them and having lots of guests is far fetched. Travelling was very dangerous and uncomfortable back then, you wouldn't get tourism like shown here.

While I like the series, this idea is something born of a modern way of thinking and does not fit in the setting. Hell nah would the clergy be okay with a pretend funeral (other villigers wouldn't either, most likely), much less pretend priests. Said clergy are supposed to be a large part of their customers, no less. This would probably lead to a similar situation as in S&W volume 4.
