the irony of trying to say im strawmanning you by IMMEDIATELY strawmanning and strawmanning through your entire post. i NEVER said you didnt criticize other governments? i said youre anti-china. strongly. which is CLEARLY true. the other times you said “strawman” weren’t strawman arguments also, and you also brought up things with no relevance to my argument multiple times. like how i never said US companies are still strict with their cartoons and yet you decided to carry on with that. i wish you could actually respond to what im saying so we could have a real discussion but like i guessed, that’s clearly not happening.

Good job, agent 47 - the denizons of this particular manga hosting service do not suspect that Our Party dislike gay people.

Please report to your local commissar and receive an extra half-ration of crickets. Your social credit score will now attract the envy of the entire polystyrene neighbourhood 🫡
right, okay. u definitely don’t sound mal-adjusted and sinophobic at all. the ccp does indeed enact anti-queer policies in the name of “values and traditionalism”, crazy how that STILL doesnt mean tan jiu was threatened in order to stop publishing. you know, cause there’s zero proof of that. there are still gay works coming out of china. ur a little weird.

The story goes that there was going to be a second collected volume for the series (I don't remember if they were physical editions, but I do remember them being collected volumes), but the publisher asked the author to remove the absolutely meaningful kiss that would happen on those chapters (it would make zero sense because the story was building towards it) and she refused and the publishing was cancelled. This, they say, killed the author's motivation for the series as a whole for a while. Then she started putting these snippets of them just living their lives while effectively killing the series' plot.

About other GL/BL stuff being published without issue: The CCP guidelines are vague and are not enforced unless the author/series gets reported by people or your regular scheduled reminder that the CCP controls everything inside the main land.
I'm sad too and all but what name of the manga in ur profile?

Thanks for the clarification guys, I still say it's effectively dead though, Tan Jiu clearly has no intention of actually properly continuing the story, if she really had then we would at least get more clearly gay stuff, cause so far it's at best all subtext, only reason we have any confirmation it's GL is due to old chapters, but they're pretty much irrelevant for the random snippets she posts, it might as well just be good friends interacting.

And if she's just waiting for the publisher to change their mind then for sure it's never going to get continued, plus not like she even has proper material to publish anyway, story long dead too.

Guess it really is another series to the pile of dead yuri

I think there’s no point in being so doomer about the comics they’ve been doing about them recently. Yes, it sucks the plot hasn’t and most likely won’t continue for a while, but I’m glad to be seeing more snippets of them being cute with each other.
The series has always had cute little snippets mixed in and the author clearly meant for it to be GL, so I don’t know where you’re getting they’re just straight now. These are still the same characters in the same universe, whatever happened years ago in canon is still canon now so if that’s what you’re hung about I wouldn’t be so quick to just jump to that conclusion. Just because they’re not overtly lovey dovey all the time doesn’t make them automatically not gay since that’s pretty clearly what the authors intentions were with them. It’s just cute everyday scenes so you can interpret it how you want but I think it’s not necessary to jump to that conclusion.
It honestly sounds like you’re taking your frustration about the plot and taking it out on the author, which has negatively effected how you view the manga. Tbh the author didn’t have to continue or draw anything more about them. They could’ve just fucked off and ended it with the kiss and left that cliffhanger forever because of the censorship with the publication but they chose to continue drawing them and the interactions are just as cute as they were before. From what I hear it sounds like they’re just focusing on improving their art and their other series while doing this on the side, so they haven’t forgotten them yet.
