This dude's outburst in front of her just shows how immature he still is. He thinks she's powerless as a woman and she'd get taken advantage of by an older guy. And... he wants to be the only one to play "hide the salami" with her.

So, is this chick just another one of those high school sluts that'll go on a date with a guy just because he's in college? Seems like her actions just don't match her preaching. And if it was so easy for her to say no when What's-his-name complained, then why agree to date the college guy in the first place? This certainly was a very stupid chapter (like most of them).

I wonder how popular this series is. I could never fully invest in this or take it serious when the author was promoting the serialization of this story in a twitter post. While at the same time promoting his NTR doujin in the same damn twitter post lol. It was the same universe with the same female lead getting mind broken by one of their classmates iirc. Chapter felt really weird. Even agreeing to hang out with a dude who seems to have intent is against her mo up to this point. Then the pep talk from the ghost of Yankee girl future.

Its actually canon, dude (MC) just avoided a major problem.
If you look you'll see that there are two associated stories (one appears to be a prototype for the concept -antisocial guy plus yankee girl)
The other is a truley associated doujin - it has the two MCS (our male MC and the yankee girl FMC) as married, looking back over nostaligia >> and thinking about what they would change if they could go back
*I thought the same as you at first that it was a girl and this was just a classic misunderstanding event you see in romance mangas -- I even thought that the older girl who looks like the FMC (in reality literally the older FMC) might be the FMC's older sister, and the 'college student' she (our young FMC) was going to meet ----- but no it was way way more complex than that and actually the looming threat of one of the worst possible events we could imagine. Fortunately it was undone, and things will go well[/spoiler]

So in reality this chapter, while subtle, is actually tremendously important to the story and a Major turning point for our couple.

Anyway the story does seem to be following along with the plot of the secomday prototype doujin (the associated canon story) based off of this chapter
So our main couple should definitely get the Happily Ever After that we want them to have.
And now that they've avoided the one unpleasant speed bump it should be even happier (though Im sure there'll be some obligatory drama, it should all work out just fine)
*Im a bit surprised at how gentle and subtly the older time traveling FMC pushed our young MC; >> Cleary it worked, and she even influenced him ti change his personality a bit (as she always does, both younger and older lol) -- but I would've expected just a little bit more seriousness and force given that it was important enough for her to time travel >>> but she probably knows the MC better than anyone and knew that this conversation would be enough.
** Our girl's smile at the end was so cute. Im glad theyre on the happiest route, and I cant wait to see them get their happily ever after in this main story.
