We kinda do the same (at least highschool my class did), so I'm gonna assume it's also a thing some classes do in Japan

I guess it's kinda like calling one's teacher/professor Teach or Prof?
It's both a nickname and also conveys respect for their position

I mean, I have seen it in other things too, and can't much speak on that, but in this story, I think it makes sense.

With Kanna specifically, pretty much her main character trait seems to be being afraid of acting outside of what she perceives to be the roles and behavior she is expected to adhere to within society. And I mean, can't really blame her, the story about the origin of her name once again hammers home that her father likely drilled into her how important it is to put on a tough act, and show no weakness, from very early on (he literally started trying to do it before she was born).

With that in mind, it makes sense that she would cling to the safety of the pre-established roles inherent in "class rep" and "fellow student", even if their relationship is far more advanced than that at this point - something, which Mito luckily seems to have picked up on.

(And of course, since this is a queer narrative, the allegory of being afraid of showing an integral part of yourself publicly, fearing persecution, and instead opting for a "safe" option even if it truncates your actual feelings, feels quite topical)

It sure was a relief to see five consecutive pages of the two of them eating. The past few chapters had me really starting to worry that these lesbians were forgetting that this was supposed to be a foodie manga.

It is the first time I read "I am tasting the concept of my favorite with my tongue" without being an ecchi. I am not sure that was meant as a joke but it is hilarious to think about.
Also, Mito making Kanna conscious of her at the beginning and towards the end was the cherry on top.
Mito won't hold back when it comes to Kanna. Kanna is pretty cute, but Mito will eat her nonetheless.

Ugh the way Mito looks at Kanna obsessing over the merch was just too wonderful. Those are the eyes of someone deeply in love, Mito knows, I suspect, what she feels, and she wants to flood Kanna with that overflowing affection to bolster Kanna's weak sense of self and shyness.

We don't see Mito's thoughts but i bet she was thinking something like "I can eat 3 bowls of rice with this alone" while looking at happy Kanna.

Mito is a meat lover so it makes sense that she's carnivorous. I wonder if imouto will act on her suspicious and decide to tail her sister on another food date.

sure, it's super cute, extremely well drawn and wonderfully themed all in all, but i also dropped Kamina Botan because they kept going nowhere for the longest of times.
if you don't get a refresher after a marathon, what's the point?
that's just torture.

i know what you feel, but that's a common problem for ongoing series to keep it longer.
Also, you can't expect them to go beyond 'just a friend' because it's not that kind of series in the first place. (there's still a chance tho, just not in early chapters)
