The novella is unbearably dumb. The author artificially pushes them together without even explaining why. The whole “feeling” thing. Then he tries to make them have opposite values (like Allen is against the monarchy, and Wess is for it), but it just looks pathetic.

I lost the author's original message but it's something the author knows that the 1st Volume of the Web Novel is the worst part of the series but by Volume 2 onwards its actually good.

And the reason for Volume 1 being a bit of a mess is because the author originally did not think this series Web Novel would become as popular as it is and originally wanted to write a power trip villain story.

But after the Web Novel became popular, did he decide to take the story a bit more seriously by improving the pacing and adding character developments which to his credit were decently executed. But too bad the story had such wobbly foundation.

chill series, but do we really need this body takeover bs? it's been done to death. hope this is just a one time joke and the author moves on.

This kind of makes me want to see a series where the protagonist goes full villain and the harem just go along with it and commit crimes with him, kind of subverting the genre.

Thanks for the translation!
I think there are one or two manga like that, but read long so can't recall. There're 2 ongoing manhua that I can rec with that plot— I Am the Fated Villain & Master: This Villainous Disciple Is Not The Holy Child

really one of the rare case where the manga artist basically pull the source material out of mediocrity. I was curious and check the webnovel to see how the author tackle the fight. NOPE

there was no fight at all, they have the protag speak some cringe line then hard cut to the aftermath with the principle instead.

NAH THAT’s DIRTYYYYYY…

that’s how you make mfs go into their villain arc:facepalm:

but if that actually happens it’ll be pretty good as long as he doesn’t become a comically one dimensional villain. if this experience makes him hate the mc, or turn into an anti-hero that isn’t inherently evil because he’s literally supposed to be the hero of this verse, that will be the best course of action in my opinion, honestly anything would beat making him the petty annoying first villain in every Isekai :shamihuh:

edit: knowing who the author is, I’ll be lowering my expectations
