I lost the author's original message but it's something the author knows that the 1st Volume of the Web Novel is the worst part of the series but by Volume 2 onwards its actually good.

And the reason for Volume 1 being a bit of a mess is because the author originally did not think this series Web Novel would become as popular as it is and originally wanted to write a power trip villain story.

But after the Web Novel became popular, did he decide to take the story a bit more seriously by improving the pacing and adding character developments which to his credit were decently executed. But too bad the story had such wobbly foundation.

if the wn had those problems that the author recognized, that mean that when he rewrite for the ln he somehow improved and corrected the plot and this manga is based in that correction instead of the original wn?

really one of the rare case where the manga artist basically pull the source material out of mediocrity. I was curious and check the webnovel to see how the author tackle the fight. NOPE

there was no fight at all, they have the protag speak some cringe line then hard cut to the aftermath with the principle instead.

Yup and not only that. When an author has a Web Novel made into a Light Novel after striking a deal with a publisher, they are assigned an editor whose job it is to guide the author to make a more coherent story and fix whatever errors they have identified in the Web Novel( Fixing any plot holes they have identified, adding more character developments, etc).

Overall it's the author who will rewrite the story with the guidance of the editor until the editor gives it the greenlight for publication into a Light Novel.

In the case of Taida na Akujo, the author here spent roughly 7 months fixing the story. From July 31 2023 (when he signed the deal) until February 10 2024(when he announced that everything is ready for sale in March 29 2024).

And this is personally my opinion but the publisher for this series is Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko. Kadokawa's A-tier publisher that has a proven track record of having multiple marketable series under their banner(These are ongoing series under their belt and as you can see most of which have gotten anime adaptations, while their previous series also includes stuff like Problem Children from Another World.

So I sort of have faith that this series will turn out fine since it is in the best hands possible.

And, Yes Weiss has the privilege of being able to stand side-by-side with Alya and Megumin.
