Yup some points. Generally expulsions become less common as time goes on since people have enough points to prevent that and there are other ways to earn points like passing written exams and extra curricular activities.

Expulsions were only common during the start and only for the first years.

Yes after the ecam and before Milk sensei was announced as a teacher, there was a break for those students who did well and Weiss was able to get home temporarily with Lilith and were joined by Cynthia.
