And unfortunate too, but if it means the author can manage the workload better that's fine. I do wonder if these half chapter releases are an attempt at reaching a compromise between chapter length, storytelling quality, and bearable workloads for authors tho.

Hopefully that's what they are, instead of the publishers piecemealing whole chapters the author delivered, for their shitty digital platform's business model.

The way this works is similar to how Mangadex works.

They do these half chapters so the series can appear more on the main site online Japanese manga sites Nicovideo and Comicwalker often.

As you know there are hundreds of isekai manga out there(the translated ones you see are just the tip of the iceberg).

And Japanese readers are people too who have a limited attention span and have many series bookmarked which means in their accounts so more and more manga are doing these 2 half chapters every month or 4 quarter chapters every month in order to keep them invested.

The usual 1 chapter a month just isnt enough for most anymore, especially for new series like this.


For this series it has worked very well since when they first started doing these half chapters last November, the series had 84k stars(bookmarks) now it is now at 99k.

Usually when manga have 10 plus chapters, interest cools down and have smaller ceilings. The fact this series is getting 1k plus new stars/bookmarks everytime a new chapter or half chapter is released means that this series is consistently getting attention.

Most Manga that have 100k plus stars have gotten anime.

The manga has been licensed by Seven Seas... according to their store page, volume 1 of the official English version will be released digitally in October 2026 as

"REBORN AS AN ARISTOCRATIC SCOUNDREL, I BROKE THE GAME AND MASTERED MAGIC BEYOND LIMITS"

Given the DMCA take-downs and potential legal consequences, it is unlikely to that "free" official version will ever be available.
