Seriously, fuck whoever keeps changing series titles from translated English to romanji. I got the update note for this earlier and it was in my feed as the English title. Now I come back and some turbo-weeb has changed it to transliterated because they have off or believe series must be expressed in Japanese or some bullshit. Mangadex's selectable title displays can't come soon enough.
I prefer having multiple alt titles, the translated english, the romanji, and sometimes another translated title, and rarely some shortening (ie. "danmachi", though iirc it actually doesn't have that alttitle on md).
No, the issue is that the
order of the titles changes. That part is what needs to remain consistent. Same hodls true for cover art, that's even worse when it changes (than title changes).
Granted, I have alleviated most issues by running my own userscript for the feed, which among other things show a list of all "en" tagged altTitles (and the "jp" tagged if none exists - "error: no title" if it has neither jp or en, such as some of the korean or chinese works). I did try to fix the cover art thing too, by simply picking the first or last one in the list (tried both approaches), but that doesn't seem to stay constant :/ I should prolly get date, but have bigger issues that need to be fixed first, such as how each tab in the "latest chapter" feed (yes, that is a self-made feature: "all", "tracked" (MAL & MAL-sync localstorage), "oneshots", and "eroticas" (to get them filtered out of oneshots and all)) uses the same API requests, meaning if I haven't updated the cut-off date for one in a long time, all the others will also take ages to get to the fetch-cover-art step as they are waiting for it to complete.
