I was checking with the light novel for my bit earlier, and there was none of that in there. Could have been something originally in the web novel the author didn't like and scrapped it when moving things into the light novel. The event is the exact same in the light novel as it is in the manga
I think the Remno revolution arc is Tearmoon's weakest arc, but the student council election arc is nearly as bad as it. It's the arcs after that that really get the ball rolling since we finally get more details about what they're really up against, and the greater worldbuilding sets up the stakes.
The student council election arc also doesn't have much in the way of interesting happenings, but I still remember it fondly due in part of it having one of my favourite: "Mia gives up and turns her brain off and yet the universe still somehow bullshits its way into making things work for her." moments in the series, and also due to it having one of the scenes that sets up the foundation for Mia's more in-depth relationship and further exploration of Rafina's psyche and character.
