Yeah this chapter did kind of just throw away the gender role reversal concept with Beato talking about damaged goods and Gretel being instantly forgiven for having a violent emotional outburst. I do like Beato as a character though and I assume Gretel will chill out now that her feelings were accepted. See ya in June for chapter 6

I half agree. I don't want to drop it (yet at least), but you're right that she does ruin any parts involving her. I hate DV regardless of gender causing it even if it's "just drawn" and not real life.

So why is the woman having premarital sex supposed to make her damaged goods in this setting?

Only reason I can think of is because she's royalty maybe?
