What the point of creating the new mankind who don't have intelligent and just know how to eat, sleep and reproduce like an animal. This AI logic is kind of twist. Just imagine if those Hiruko are the one that last on this world, then what next. They will be no difference with dinosaur era, a punch of animals that just trying to survive and evolve again and again.

Yes, Human maybe mean to be extinted somedays that why we try to evolve and create a new human which is stronger, smarter, more generous. We wish for everyone can live harmony with other species and nature. We wish to understand this world and the reason for our existent.

I don't think the author really understands the function of emotion, which fair enough, most people don't.

If you had a being of perfect logic with no emotion or sensation, it wouldn't DO anything. Their purpose is to motivate action. Without emotion, how could Meena even desire to create a new mankind? Maybe it's just mistaken about being emotionless or perceives it differently because it's a computer.

Even animals have emotions. They're necessary to react to any situation in ways that are even slightly complex. They also make the classic mistake of thinking evolution has a "goal." Maybe it's all just the flawed logic of the machine, but I was hoping for a little more.

I must say I'm always disappointed by every rendition of AI that considers emotion useless/obsolete instead of being obvious.

One single emotion can be divided and nuanced ad vitam eternam, it can sprung a multitude of relevant connections. Connections that literally carry information and insight, what a truly logical should appreciate.

Take the famous madeleine scene in Search of Lost Time, from Marcel Proust. Without emotion, it's worthless: one mammal ingesting carb, a common event that would not be recorded.

But with emotion, this simple act, the Narrator eating again his favorite snack from childhood, it becomes a pillar of literature bringing to mind years of memories brought on by the closeness of olfactory receptors with memory centers. Countless information about places, beings that would have been lost to time without that link.

Also, the human heart is far from obsolete in an apocalyptic setting. Survival instinct is not an absolute drive that will always supercede everything and push individuals to always act to live long enough to reproduce (survival instict at the scale of a species). Many controlled experiments show terrible results with their subjects seemingly letting themselves wither and die; same for us, when grief can be deadly, with spouses and parents often following along quickly their loved ones shortly after their passing.

I'm not sure why Meena considers the Hirukos worth the trouble. The monsters look like a regression considering evolutionary complexity. They just stay in place and kill anything in their territory like base animals. At least, children of Hirukos like Maru or Hirokos children before transformation have all the benefits of humanity, its drive and mind, plus physics defying abilities.

Anyway, I hope someone updates Meena's OS because it's intellectually poor and short-sighted — that'll teach her to disrespect monkes because she can't appreciate the triumphs and defeats, the epic highs and lows of high school football 😔🙏

I refuse to translate this title drup any further
lol

Well, looks like the pieces are falling into place now. And not in a positive way :worry:
Midway it felt like I was listening to the sales pitch of a crypto/AI bro tho :dogkek:
And uh, realistically speaking (if that makes sense in such a setting), were the kids at the academy even in the 3 digits? That's not really a lot if you plan to create a new human(?) race, especially if you don't expect all of them to make it...

While I honestly didn't really get the "there are two of me" part from the graphics (limitations of the media I suppose), I don't think that's a good sign for Mikura...
Is that the classic getting rid of the person after revealing your evil scheme to them?

Thanks for the upload!

This is why you need to put systematic apathy in AI, so they can think of these ideas, and much like their human creators and predecessors, decide it would be too much trouble.

Never trust anything that has a 100 percent work mindset, they almost never see non-goal oriented side effects

Computers basically act to fulfil orders, right? Even without emotion, Meena could have been acting to fulfil the order she was given; to "create heaven on Earth" (I'm hypothesizing).

If so, then Meena's plot to create a new mankind would be the outcome of a logical process, not an emotional desire.

I do have my doubts, though, (as many other commenters have already expressed) about the logical ability of an entity that concluded all of evolution and all of human history 1) had a specific purpose, and 2) that this purpose was her own creation.

the original Director has been sitting in the incubator room the entire time.
imagine... just imagine "old" director was aware all the time, and contrary to having flesh witch, when confined and unable to move kind of shut down (you sleep when unable to move at all in order to prevent brain damage or madness, learned that with ajin, dunno if real), you stay alone, aware, unable to perceive or move, only to think... for 15 FUCKING YEARS.......
