Saki must be living in the luckiest part of the village, having better cell phone signal strength than anyone else. After all, the early chapters made it a point Himeko and Hayato's home had such abysmal reception that the dude never even thought about getting a cell phone. We can assume their school back in the village was no better off since a school kid would be spending many hours every day over there, again justifying a cell phone.

I doubt the situation would be getting any better since 4G and 5G are even more troublesome than 3G for the signal penetration, yet with the declining Japanese population, it wouldn't be financially viable to invest heavily in the networks out in the countryside.

I think we can assume that when she's at home she's using Wi-Fi

So, in Japan, is it normal for kids to just temporarily take over part-time jobs from other kids without any paperwork, documentation, training, etc? Feels like it would lead to chaos.

If it is also where Iori lives then maybe it's a non-corp small business owned by his parents, might make it easier to just pay a kid in cash for the day to avoid any paperwork.

Can't comment if that's actually common or only common in manga though :p

Well I park my reading train here for now. The slow pace works for now since all the main characters are flawed so don't know how to approach love or feel too embarrassed to do so. Nonetheless I do hope the action picks up starting chapter 40 or so
