They never said it’d be a fair negotiation. Mc has a 100 ways to trick his opponents and ambush them mid-deal
they agree to hand over the sister for the saint (since he’s literally the source of their entire religion and power) and then summon in a bunch of reinforcements, beat everyone up, and escape with sister and saint.
I mean, it's not like Kai is in an overwhelmingly superior military situation. They have at least half the world against their couple dozen. Even if they can come out on top, he can't guarantee no casualties among his own people. Negotiation is a logical choice, even if the only outcome is getting more intel on the enemy.
Froze herself in time and we know she can use that power to last for years at a time. So much for the temple's plan of sacrificing her. All they could do now is dump her on that super dangerous island and wait for all those beasts to kill her when she unfreezes, exactly what our MC wants.
He has no idea of where she is an going in all mages blazing against unknown forces demanding the one thing they value most is probably going to be tricky. Might as well try and at least get some info out of them first to make finding her easier.

You have to think of it from Kai's POV, not our omniscient one. Here's what you're getting wrong:The thing is they might also have some kind of tricks up their sleeve with unknow powers, for now MC has an advantage of having the saint as a bargaining chip and as his sister already turned herself in to "stone" so church have nothing to lose by giving her to them (as they don't think she can be turned back). But handing over the Saint who has been a prisoner for so long back to his captives isn't really a good thing either.
Mostly, I don't trust our MC to have the best laid out plans for now, we still haven't seen what he got from last village upgrade right? or did I miss it?Well plot armor will save his ass so yeah....
And I'm salty as no one is thinking "Witch" might become an ally, I don't want them to just go an unseal her but still it would have been better to look for more information at this point about the witch to see why the church wants her sealed. Just bring that point as point of conversation. He didn't ask Celestial anything about the witch either. And why did he just believe that the witch will destroy the world, just because Chruch people said so.... they have been lying and killing children for so long now....![]()
When I said, "and as his sister already turned herself in to "stone" so church have nothing to lose by giving her to them" I wanted to say was, Church don't loose anything and no implying he knows. Either way the saint is more important to the church than MC's sister. You have to think of it from Kai's POV, not our omniscient one. Here's what you're getting wrong:
1. Kai has no idea his sister froze herself. He has to operate under the assumption the church can use/harm her at any time.
2. While we have the ability to predict the future based on common tropes, Kai does not. He cannot assume the witch is related to the saint, let alone a potential ally.
3. He doesn't have enough information. He's trying to err on the side of caution and there's nothing wrong with that. Not to mention, it's not like he was a master tactician or strategist in his past life.
Rosa can detect lies. They have no reason to doubt him. When I said, "and as his sister already turned herself in to "stone" so church have nothing to lose by giving her to them" I wanted to say was, Church don't loose anything and no implying he knows. I mean man, he just believed what the Church dude said as facts and assumed she's a witch and she's a calamity, the one who left him to die on the island and the one who kidnapped his sister..... and I'm not saying this based on 'tropes' or anything, I'm just saying he just believed what they said one sidedly and haven't really tried to gather information about the witch, not even a hint to suggest he's even doubting what he said.
Do you really have to be master tactician or strategist to have doubts about what the one who tried to kill you said ?
And you can see in the fallowing chapters he is portrait to be a smart strategist....
They both have the hostages. both sides have someone very important to the otherY'know, the church is probably thinking the same shit. But has superior firepower? Plus they can demand the hand over on their own turf for better ambush.
Because guess what? The CHURCH has the hostage. That makes them demand shit. And Kai is always a fucking doormat and will fall for it.
I think the plan will be to hand over the saint, get sis back, then grab saint and teleport back to safety. Sure the church will have their own schemes but mc and his Allies Have powers that the enemy barely understandThe thing is they might also have some kind of tricks up their sleeve with unknow powers, for now MC has an advantage of having the saint as a bargaining chip and as his sister already turned herself in to "stone" so church have nothing to lose by giving her to them (as they don't think she can be turned back). He can omit part of the truth so his truth can be deliberately misunderstood the wrong way.Rosa can detect lies. They have no reason to doubt him.
Turf matters when the previous poster said he wanted to jump the transaction by teleporting troops to get kill the opponent. They both have the hostages. both sides have someone very important to the other
if The saint dies, the church dies but the church won’t know how important the sister is to these people unless they make it obvious
also, turf means very little when you can teleport
