So these people are living in their land essentially for free and yet refuse to give them the rice that is supposed to serve as rent? Sounds like a good justification for a holy beatdown.

Those people are essentially squatting the Temple lands at this point.

Even if that "Nengu" is an outdated tradition, they have house built on the Temple properties and should have to pay a rent from what she explained. If not Rice, then money.

It honestly deserves calling the cops on them at the very least. If not a lawyer.

Those are some cultured toddlers, they will be a fine gentleman and gentlelady when grown up.

Each one of those bags weights at least, lets say, 50-70kg... so what material is Yuzuki made off.

That lady that made them clean her house and run off is prime sleeazybag.

Really? The temple own the land? It might be in the past, but in modern law I doubt that's a thing.

With that much land every temple must have been filthy rich.

If the temple really owns the land and has the right to collect rent, then they also have the duty to pay taxes no?

They did say that the nengu was an outdated law. In modern time the land should be the occupants' private property, and the nengu is just like some volunteer offering.

@thtgiang By my knowledge, that it isnt much, they can own the land, and if they use it for charity purposes they are exempt of taxes.
