Well there have been idol x manager stuff which kinda is scandalous too but i imagine it would be more 'acceptable' animanga wise/yuri idol, i feel like i read either a one shot or anthology?
where there was some 'live interview' between two all girls group 'rival' and the leader of one team confessed to the other or something like that

If not like some married couples debuting or so but that's unlikely. I heard japan did have this 'granny'/old lady idol group or so that was some older women just doing it for fun/as a side hobby? Not sure if it was like a group under a proper label or just some friends releasing music that got viral or so

And i guess it depends on how much extras the author wants to give, tho they def did strongly hint that the one idol rival guy might've also been another reincarnator, if not the OG guy who killed/poisoned William tho they'd have no reason to hurt each other know (although it would be quite a horror story/diff kinda tale for there to be some manga where there are serial killers endlessly reincarnating and stuff, i know there was an isekai like that but 'murder' is a bit more acceptable in the isekai world than just being among normal humans in a civilized society lol tho i'm tangenting now sorry)

As it is right now, I don't think any idol group would be able to come out without some kind of severe backlash. I'm more familiar with the kpop idol scene and as far as I know, there's only one kpop idol who's out and he's not doing that great financially. A big driver behind an idol's fandom is the fans' ability to imagine themselves in a parasocial relationship with the idol.
With that being said, I think I read something like this in a manga too! Totally possible in animanga-land because who needs that homophobic bs when we can have a more accepting fantasy world

I'm more familiar with the kpop idol scene and as far as I know, there's only one kpop idol who's out and he's not doing that great financially. A big driver behind an idol's fandom is the fans' ability to imagine themselves in a parasocial relationship with the idol.
