@feha I don't know why you'd call ambition 80 low when it's the highest ambition stat we've seen so far in the manga, so we don't really have a measuring stick on what 80-100 would be like. With how she's basically an unknown person who'll be placed next to him in authority over his land, it's pretty reasonable to treat her as a danger to the situation he's trying to improve. There's not really any reason for Ars to believe she's not from a corrupt family that would try to take control of what he's accomplished, since he already knows that the empire's on the verge of collapse from how rampant corruption is.

The story stalled for so fucking long there thank god we are getting back on track, I was seriously wondering if it was going to bleed to death for a few chapters.

New character seems interesting, but she has to be written well if she is to pull of the frightening fmc well.

I personally am expecting a "macbeth's wife" type character. Constantly urging the MC to take risky bets to further the fame and ambition, which would be fucking great to get the story going ngl.

Considering she has low bravery AND leadership but high strategy, ambition, and speech, there are two possibilities:
1) She's an overambitious noble that wants to live a life of luxury OR

2)She's a diplomat character with a big goal like reforming -read: conquering- the kingdom or preventing a civil war.

Either option has merits and demerits depending on her ultimate goal. The worrying part is that "Speech" potential combined with her ambition and strategy and the fact that she came with an armed escort straight into the mansion with little time to prepare.

Edit: Also also the possibility of betrayal with that low bravery.

Ok now I really need to spit out a question thats bugging me. Why do Japanese think that short pants are so cool to make so many MC wear them? I really don't get it, why? So many MC also in videogames, anime e manga so many short pants... why? I'm from Italy and here if you wore shorts with a long sleeve jacket you're a clown...

Let's take as example Noctis from FF15. Boots with ankle pants... I really don't get the sense of fashion and coolness of the Japanese. So many short pants, too many short pants, i can see them in my nightmares.
Sorry I really needed to vent about this thing.

I don't know the exact reason but here in my country people who had a labor-intensive job or a child usually wear shorts, especially in the countryside. the main reason is climate since I'm in a tropical country, the other reason is "cute". a child that wears shorts considered cute here, and also shorts are cheaper. It's most likely that the author lives on a continent or island with quite above average temperature and want to use the "cute" element of shorts for the characters. well, Italy and most European countries are 4-season climates, and western culture usually has a "gentleman" vibe, so shorts definitely weird.

TLDR. the author wants to use European-style clothing but also wants to make the character looks cuter by giving him shorts, in my opinion. it's just cultural differences.
