That's not child abuse. That's disciplining his kid. I got smacked plenty of times as kid when I did something stupid. Better for a parent to punish their kid than the law. The kid offended the royalty of another country. Capital punishment for that would be execution.
Unfortunately, as time moves on, standards, morals and perceptions change change. But in this case, you're completely right.

The child abused warning was a bit overkill, I was expecting a bloody beating. I’ve seen worse in other mangas and manhwas than a slap and a throw. And while yes, technically child abuse (especially by today’s standards) not really saying the kid could have gotten them all executed if it had started a war.

So, in other words, that country is perfectly fine with their mayors causing huge international incidents so long as the victim is a child of an influential noble, and not an actual (non-influential) noble themselves?
Feels like a very odd demarcation to make, distinguishing between the adults vs their children like that.
Having a warning for fictional child abuse is kinda weird? But I guess it's not hurting anyone.
I suppose it is for people with such ptsd they trigger just hearing or seeing the words/cartoon-images. Which means the alert itself would be triggering them~

Cain, you absolute moron. A buffoon who is used to getting problems to go away with the wave of his hand is not going to change his ways because you forgave him once. You should have taken the opportunity to end him then and there.
The dude lost his position in parliament and had his reputation shattered after almost starting a war out of sheer stupidity. Even if he wasn’t planning something stupid here, his future would’ve probably been pretty short and shitty

People really taking the warning a wrong way. A warning is just a warning. Even if you are fine with the floor being jusy a little slippery, others might be not, the warning isn't for you personally, but for people who might need it. Even if this isn't an abuse for you, there might be someone out there who gets disturbed by hitting own kid. If it isn't for you, then just move on.
Except we have seen way worse regularly in this series. Just a few chapters ago thugs wanted to maim the mc who is the same age. Hell lets address that for some reason we are being warned about a slap and book being thrown at him as if they are the dark part of the chapter, when we found out about a child slave ring existing. The warning over played it and was distracting as it changed the mood of the chapter as it primed you to expect somthing that just wasn't there. This mood shift can really hurt the chapter by shifting expectations. It was definitely excessive.

Yeah, there's all that too, but for the sake of context then overall in mangas then there are sooo many more cases of child abuse, much worse than in this, and then there are genres with so much worse overall that if it gets compared to real life then it'd be unthinkable.

Then there is the case of people asking for more realistic consequences and depictions, which is a big part of why game of thrones became so viral. So many contradictions all over the place in the world, between what people say they want and then didn't like once they had gotten it, like in cases of wanting realistic depictions but then don't like the realistic depictions because they're "too cruel".

But as for this story in particular, then it is what it is. There are even worse events here and there all the way to where the WN is at. Also, if there's anyone who likes the manga, then the WN/LN is definitely worth reading.

I dont like this vague "general" warnings. I expected something way different on a way worse level and mentally prepared for it. And yeah, I involuntarily read stuff where I WANTED a warning, but didnt get it and cant erase it out of my mind. But here we got "this". My opinion:

you can give such a warning and imo its ok, but describe the scene with a small spoiler warning, so the reader can decide to read it or not. Also if I would have skipped it, some interactions without father and son would have been missed by me. Sure, not really important here, but could have been. If you care about a trigger warning, you could care about exact pages where and what happens too.

Yeah yeah, I know, I didnt pay for it, its just my opinion you can receive however you want.

So much this. I was expecting several pages of the kid getting screamed at and being beaten up, all we got were like two panels that were barely violent.

Yeah I was expecting MUCH worse.

Like yeah the kid fucked up but what's gonna happen- oh. Just that.
Essentially, he got a slap, was forced to bow his head and got thrown a book (not even at him, but at the wall).
I expected at least some mild torture or something... Instead we got a children's book illustration of "child abuse".

"I'll let you off the hook if you promise not to use your authority for more evil deeds."
goes home
Instantly plans more evil deeds

Thanks Cain for showing exactly why this kind of mindset doesn't work (at the very least unless you do it like rl probation and have them constantly surveilled and on a very short leash). Now if the idiot didn't pick a literal halfgod as his opponent but instead just continued with his previous ways, every future victim would be entirely on you.

ppl focusing on the child abuse warning while im sitting here like wao this dude is getting away with an apology so he can continue trying more evil things for petty revenge (while shifting all blame to his shitty parented kid)...
edit: prob so we can get the parent arrested/whatever and later have the kid come back in a future arc like hey cain remember me zzz
Note that Cain only accepted the apology. The noble still has to receive a punishment from the parliament, and pay reparations. Maybe he can afford reparations, but his political career would likely be ruined, and his ability to do evil greatly diminished.

Abuse? The real abuse going to come after w/e plot fails because “plot armor” to strong and he ends up as a slave with the rest of his family.
