It's really funny how little that matters most of the time. It almost feels like even the author forgets it constantly and only occasionally remembers, and then throws something out to re-establish it

A round planet was kind of assumed by most educated folks, so that's probably the easiest or only obvious point for Euphie to believe. The rest is absolutely mindblowing from an energy standpoint. Or at least vexing even for a living rainbow reactor-core like Euphie.

A magitech moon landing would be pretty cool to see, even if this couple may be centuries old by that point.
