I find the rage amusing, it's like they'd think it was gay if someone who was transgender transitioned and liked men (instead of what they are, straight).
I'm fine with things going either way, but this parallels Boku Girl to a bit where it was more a sense of adoration for the female love interest character mistaken for love. Idol Pretender was kinda left-field, but I have a feeling that may have been more due to rushing to complete it given the total number of chapters.
