literally a hostage situation and the prince has objectively done nothing wrong. If she had done it without the prince being in danger then i would agree, but the prince had a sword to his throat and i dont doubt for a second if they had killed the queen her guards would have killed the prince.

After rereading the previous chapter, I've joined a new religion, the bitch has to die and suffer as much as possible. Hope Marie's brother get her and her lapdogs... What a despicable creature.

I'd, at the very least, like a omake or chapter to explain exactly how someone who manipulated their way to the very seat of crown royal has been "used just like that since forever". Especially when just a few panels before that, she describes the whole event as "a game". You'd need to have some sort of incredibly jacked-up past to view life and death as "a game" with such dead eyes. Let alone the mindset that people, even those deeply related to you, are pawns to be used and throw away at a whim.
I would not be against a bait-n-switch scenario where nothing was actually wrong with her past and she's just super psychotic.

Its a matter of priorities and what they need to do. Letting her go was the better option.
If they let her go, they can capture her afterwards, do a public trial and they still have a prince.
If they executed her then and there, theres a good chance that the people could turn her into a martyr and they don't have a prince.
In addition, she may be a victim but she's also a perpetrator of abuse. Acknowledging shes a victim of the system does not absolve of her personal responsibility.
