I understand the point of this, is to allow the adults to struggle while MC is comically obsessed with magic but it makes MC look so callous to allow all of this to happen, when we know that he could have easily prevented all of this from happening because he's unbelievably OP. He effortlessly took down grimoire and he could do the same here but he let's everyone nearly die, beaten to a pulp, and sexually molested without so much as a care in the world. He just seems like one of the worst human beings, incapable of empathy or even sympathy.
