how would you grade this cooking festival??
This arc 9/10 for me, on previous arc "seedrun" Fran was too overpowered so she have to step back from the limelight and let the princesses, the twin, and the rebel taking the spotlight for the whole entire arc. I guess this make the manga less stale from repeating the same formula over and over so he make that one sorta a political arc about nation struggles with power vacuum, but I just want Fran having more screentime tbh.
But bulboa arc? It's amazing. The fact that Fran started the whole fiasco because she got offended master's curry wasn't crowned as "the best thing ever" Is so funny, although she's found out the judge speaking the truth right after tasting all the other participants but still stubborn about proving curry is the best thing ever also cute. The best part is without a doubt the entire arc her folded all the enemy plan without even knowing what she does is quite silly and comedic, from preventing Charlotte kidnapping, stealing their stuff and cure, saving the orphanage from extortion, or mixing the curry with the only cure in town.
All the supporting character also really fun from colbert, mea and her maid, forlund, Charlotte, scarlet maiden, gammund, hell even one of the antagonist is actually are not boring to watch. Fran herself also growing not just her power but also her determination, she outright offered way to evolved but she refused the temptation and want to evolved by her strength and shishou is pretty cool moment, also the sky slash is so fuckin cool like holy moly, what a scene.
Overall it's great arc, even the pacing is great (I know a lot people felt different because it's a monthly released, but please try re read it again if you think so) I guess my only complaint are the actual competition day was cut way too short, I guess I just want more wholesome moment lasted longer.
