The mini-rant below assumes that there is no level cap in this world. If there is one, his potential skyrockets.

The MC’s talent triples the experience required to level up but grants a consistent +1 to all attributes per level. In contrast, average individuals gain 2–5 attribute points per level, with luck increasing by 1 for everyone.

For the same total experience, others can level up multiple times and gain 6, 9, 12, or 15 attribute points, compared to MC's fixed 7. This makes the talent suboptimal, offering fewer attribute points than all but the worst-case scenario, and less than half as effective as the best case.

Though, they used the terms “attributes” and “abilities” interchangeably here, so I have no way of knowing what exactly they meant.

[Name] Flower
[Name] Tree

Gee, that's useful. Shouldn't it state at least the bloody species name? I'm pretty sure the dude can tell it's a flower or a tree even without using the magic skill.

What exactly is the downside supposed to be? He gains +7 attributes on level-up but needs 3x exp, compared to normal level-up +2 attributes per level. His stats will increase 1xpoint faster than normal, levels won't matter. If he wants to compare his level, he can just multiply his current level with 3...
There's a bigger hole in this logic buddy.
The god says that a normal person gets 2-5 atribute upgrades per level which would average at 3.5, so if the guy only getting 7 per 3 levels his effort is worth less than other people's.
