@isekaiweeb The number of orcs seems to be a translation issue repeatedly. Before the battle, they were going back and forth between 20,000 and 200,000, after they sustained some casualties it began alternating between 15,000 and 150,000. However, the population of the city is likely in the right ballpark.

Recall that Rimuru suggested the orcs should spread their people out to work in places all over the forest, so regardless of which numbers were right (20,000 before and 15,000 after battle if I had to guess) it's not like the entire orc population is in his place.

That is very weird mistake in number.

The character for 10000 and 1000 are very different. How did the translation got the mistake from?

@CheerTheDead It could be the result of a habit, since in japanese and chinese, we think of numbers in 10000s, like we would think 500,000 would be 50x 10000s rather than 500x 1000s. So when converting between languages, the brain sometimes farts~ XD
I certainly know that I made the mistake of calling 50,000 in my bank account as 50 10000s more than once~ ;p

I understand that but i have never made the same mistake so i find it hard to believe.

In my mother tongue, we use number in 1000s.
When I learned English, i was introduced with 100s. 5000 as 50 hundreds.
And when I learn Japanese, i start to revive the way of using 10000s.

However, not a moment would i get mistake in those numbers so i found it weird people got this problem.
