That said, this intelligent tentacle isn't too bright per se. He's taken control of the squad and yet remains there just to gloat (and leave himself target), instead of leaving and hiding out in order to take over more people.

Yeah, they're only conduit to his brainwaves, so it's probable they're not autonomous. More like puppets he has to pull around, all by himself.

Even so, you'd think he remain hidden, or at least continuing playing dead. After all it didn't look like he needed to regenerate his body in order to activate the control.

Probably, but there's also the possibility that he doesn't have enough energy to do so because he sprayed everyone in the last chapter

Remember how the 1st Squadron entered the hole in chapter 15? I feel like that was a plot point. Best case scenario, they turn up at the last minute and save everyone.

Worst case scenario, right before super-mode Jin kills the tentacle, it reveals that it's holding the 1st Squadron hostage.

So that tentacle demi human wasn’t one shotted, but poor Jin, what was supposed to be a routine mining trip just turned into a fight to suvive.

At this rate, the first squad’s job will turn from exploration to rescuing other squadrons in danger.

Also, good on Aishu to not let her guard down after last time.
