This isn't a question of legal procedures and law, this is about the well-known Ship of Theseus paradox, which is a thought experiment that asks "if you replace every component of an object, such as every plank that comprises a boat, is it still the same object in the end?"

I think that when we get to the point of being able to replace parts of the brain with cybernetic devices, there will be similar lawsuits. When that happens, the Ship of Theseus will definitely be argued in court - by both sides. And, just like in the manhwa, the insurance company's decision will heavily influence the court's decision.

Insurance company coming in clutch.

His family is being weird though. I imagine it's some kind of excuse for a different motive because what are they trying to prove?
"Yeah, this ain't our guy anymore so leave him out of the will"?
"He feels scary and not as huggable as then so make him move out"?
"This an impostor so kill him and let me sell the parts"?
Replacing the brain and other parts without a good reason might be where ethical issues start coming but people being scared of prosthetics is already a thing because fear of unknown.
