The counter to this argument is that Rentarou has now canonically locked eyes with us, but with no zing. The viewers are canonical characters, but we're not girlfriends. It's a very sad day.

Technically he wasn’t looking at us directly in the eyes, he was just gesturing towards us. And like how things went with Mai, unless it’s explicitly shown that he’s locked eyes with someone, assume he hasn’t. Otherwise she would have zinged with him long before she joined the party.

Kiki so you are just trying to hard, everyone else has something special that’s a little extreme, except her. Kiki is just normal but trying to act abnormal, not to the point of doing things that would be abnormal, but just enough to come off as clumsy. It’s cute, especially in context.

I guess neither Suu nor Nano ran out of energy before the pages ended, that answers that question. No wonder Uto never improves, she gets frustrated every time she messes up and just gives up for the time being to do something else. Yeah Iku will follow you into your dreams to force you to try harder, that is unless you hit her with her bat, then she might not because she’ll be too happy.

If Uto just tried a little harder and actually finished her “Ocarina for Dummies” book, she would probably be half decent. Granted her “unique” shall we say way of playing is a part of her character, and taking that away would be a mighty blow so… maybe it’s best to leave as is.
