I'm guessing "you revealed to me a hidden strength of danan" refers to danan being allies with the neighboring country? and it's the duke that told her that when he said "to apologize because he's the prince of a neighboring country". she makes it seem she's grateful because she doesn't know that piece of information if it weren't for the duke.

but she still didn't apologize but went on to have normal conversation with him as if nothing happens. hence the duke thinking "i won't offer you anything the likes of apology" is the vibe he's getting from the freria.

she diffuses situations without making herself look weak, even better, she lifts the other party up so she gains their favor. 31st consort really is formidable.

Reminds me of the story of the Black Healer. Bitch is so full of herself, she doesn't see the noose around her neck. It'll only be a matter of time before she sees that not only is the kingdom on the 31st's side, but the other states of power are as well.

You fight against what you assume to be a snake, but in reality it was a dragon.

@forgettingforgetting that or as a result she learned that the 9th consort's father has a relationship with Danan. I think however she was referring to the duplicitous behavior of the prince (again, assuming this was all some shady court antics intent to throw shade on the 31st by design) in addition (in other words, the "strength of Danan" means that they are adept at backhanded tactics with a smile—stab you while smiling) to giving her information that she can use as Queen to effectively enact trade & diplomacy.

In other words, if I'm interpreting things correctly, she called the Prince's bluff and now has not only returned his challenge (the glass = a gauntlet thrown down, a return of a challenge), but also has gaslit the Duke by thanking him for giving her an opportunity to know how cutthroat and despicable the Danan royal family is. This assumes that the interaction wasn't comedic and she was referring to the Prince having a sense of humor.

Unfortunately, I don't know if it was made cler based upon the number of interpretations. 😅😂🤣

Yes, I agree with the rest, though it may have been multifaceted.

I don't know if the prince was doing it on purpose or not, and whether she was testing him/his intentions by the glass in response. It's a bit unclear. 😅

@jbenj the next chapter will probably have other characters discussing how great Feria did. The Duke tried to join in on a fight and got shut down.

At that point, if I was the father, I'd tell my dumbass daughter to "either you withdraw, or I disown you right here and right now. I won't allow you to bring our whole family to ruin just because you're a dumbass".

I see some are confused so I'm going to offer my interpretation on the last scene.

When the prince stained Feria's dress and said to accompany him, it was his own strategy to try and ruin Feria, not in bad faith but to measure her ability since his little sister is taken by her.

If Feria had accepted to follow him her reputation would have took a hit since she would have been alone with him and accepted clothes from another man despite being a consort candidate.

Instead she made it so that both were in the same standing by having dirty clothes, but framed it as "since we are now in the same circumstance you don't need to offer an apology (by getting me a new dress, which would be indecent since I'm not going to wear clothes offered by a man other than the king)"

The 11th consort wanted to use this as an opportunity to discredit Feria and networking with the other country so she send her dad to reprimand Feria.

But Feria is a consort candidate, someone who can be the Queen of their country, if she were to apologize to the foreign prince despite having been wronged first is the same as lowering their country's standing, so she ignores him and keeps the conversation going with the prince.

As stated earlier the prince didn't drop wine on her on bad faith but as a test of sorts which she passed when she didn't follow him so he supported Feria's take on keeping the conversation going while praising her dress even after he dirtied it because the princess of the other country gave it to her thus using this chance to connect with both the strongest queen candidates and both countries since he is likely confident Feria is set to be the winner.

In a previous chapter the Duke had said that he wouldn't apologize to the likes of Feria because he was of higher status, that's what Feria meant, because their country is of higher status she also shouldn't apologize to the other country (they are allies but is likely the prince's country is lower in status to their own so as possible future queen she can't show any weakness to them) thus showing the Duke that she is pretty fast on her feet and different quality than them since she can play evenly in their play field despite not having any of the equipment they have, so he retired.

He is a doting parent so he is also stupid enough to not force his daughter to do the same because his little princess wants come first but it's going to bite her later for sure.
