Hooray! Kana instantly did what I wanted her to! Hoes before bros! Dai can just die! Sakura can sleep under the sakura trees!

and with all that wrapped up nicely we have nothing to worry about, right? RIGHT?!? 😬😬😬

I love the band member assuming Kana wants to go physically fight Dai-kun and his new band when she says "Lets kick their asses" - not show them up as the better band, her mind immediately assumes Kana plans violence. These girls really are close.

Sakura is a baddie, Dai-kun correct to put that on lock down.

A Jirai Kei is doing what Jirai Kei do

AKA being a general menace
Momo is worth losing a foot over.

Sakura tells people that it was because of a guy because she thinks Momo is a hoe
Knows. Knows Momo is a ho.

am i in the minority when i say that this arc is EXTREMELY boring lol
This arc? Ass.
Where's my romance between maincharacters or even side characters? Prolonged nothingburger
I like the general idea of the arc and giving Kana some more character/depth/time on stage, but I agree the execution has been very weak. We haven't really been given a solid reason to care about the conflict, we've been told the band is important to Onee-Chan/Slut-chan, but the showing-part has been very weak. Then we get dropped this complex relationship web, but its only there for about 30 seconds before the solution of the mystery is shown as "Crazy girl venting to ex, Ex's current girlfriend prejudiced (likely correctly) against crazy girl, rumor takes off."
Especially sine we were always headed towards that final outcome.

The author occasionally rushes into and quickly leaves certain plot points too fast giving a bit of whiplash at times and confuses you.

He's done this a few times now like with anna and moes argument, the band thing and a few other instances.

I agree. This whole thing feels like filler content. like the series is ending soon but volume sales are popping off so they stretch it out a bit further.

at least its finally over. glad Most people here are in unison that this arc blows. why?
  • out of nowhere
  • Kyo has no strong motives to get involved
  • self contained
  • overcomplicated
  • stakes Are nonexistent for Kyo & Co
  • obliterates story pacing
  • bandmates were very minor characters
If I ever reread this series after it ends, I’m skipping this.

Norio got us too used to only giving us Kyo x Anna and here are the consequences. If there's one thing this story does very well it's focus on its main characters, it does it very well but it feels out of place when it gives prominence to other characters, it's not that kind of series.

I don't deny that it worries me, I don't want this series to drag on just for sales, this arc felt.... Boring. I think Norio's intention was to show a realistic perspective of other relationships/people and he did it well, I like the focus on momo but I feel it dragged on too long and in the end I didn't understand Kyo's role in all this and why he was SO INVOLVED, this story always builds things up ahead of time so I was expecting something much more impactful although I don't deny that from the beginning I didn't see fruit to this.

I think there are much more interesting things to deal with, like Anna's career in depth and her feelings about it, their long secret relationship and their future together. The best certainly was the comedy, it's pretty good but it's sad not to see the main couple interact, that's what always mattered anyway.

I've reread everything since chapter 155 and it all feels much more natural, it was a refreshing read as always. I think the aspect of having to wait two weeks and the episodes being so short gives the feeling of boredom, but reading it all the way through was interesting and I didn't get bored like when I read this arc biweekly.

The drama is not so much drama, it's a silly drama and the series treats it as such, as silly, the focus on secondary characters is very little and the importance is still given to Kyo and Anna, for those who feel this is “boring” I invite you to read it all again and you will change your perspective, at least that's how it was for me. The best thing to do would be to give this manga some time and read it, it has always been slow but satisfying.

Since a lot of people also got bored by this arc:
I've seen a lot of Romance mangá that tries to focus on the side characters drama for a while before resuming to the main characters plot. Honestly this isn't a bad idea at all, the problem is that a lot of them decide to do this in the middle of an important situation and the main characters get involved but also left behind for some reason. I like Kana, but I'm more interested to see how Ichikawa and Yamada's issues with the agency is going to get resolved.
