I'm really curious where the series goes from here. Usually the dating part is the finish line, so I'm excited to see how their relationship progresses further.
Well, it's technically a slice of life (even though it's also classified as a romcom), so I assume graduation is the finish line for the story. Either their middle school graduation coming up after the rest of the school year they're not even halfway through now, or we get to see the next three years of their life beyond that and see a conclusion at high school graduation. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen a story follow a couple through more than one educational institution, but I will admit it's not a common development. Generally conclusions happen at graduation from the same school they're attending at the start of the story.

I just know some of the stories I've read through in the past several months concluded at graduation and had the confession and start of the relationship at some point prior to that, like HoriMiya and SukiMega. In the case of the former, the relationship started fairly early on in the manga/anime, and the rest was about the titular pair existing as an actual couple and, at one point, they promise to marry, and the latter had the confessions and official start of dating a few volumes from the end of the manga, but much like BokuYaba they had unofficial dates before that point and their families already could tell how close the two had become well before they declared it official.
what's-his-name in that Thirsty Girlfriend Forgets Her Glasses On Purpose thing
Haha... Kaede Komura from SukiMega, yes. Ai Mie's parents were very nice. Especially the dad. Completely broke Kaede's self-perception of what his future father-in-law would be like, he was that much of a cinnamon roll. To be fair, Ai had told Kaede he reminded her of her dad, and there was that flashback to a time they didn't realize was their first meeting in their elementary school years, in the very first volume's final extra chapter, where she also said it, I believe, and even said something about marrying a guy like him, if I recall.

Also, I get it's a joke, but still, there was a plot point later in the manga about actually getting her to remember her glasses properly so she didn't need Kaede to help all the time when they were going to end up in different high schools... which then turned into her trying to be able to remember her glasses so she could witness Kaede's confession properly when she realized it was coming.

Still really love that manga (almost as much as I'm loving this one), and will probably read it again one day, but won't be able to do it here on MangaDex, anymore. Was caught in the purge...
