I don't like that the resolution to something built up for 37 chapters finished like a montage. I also felt like the maid's last act against Chloe wasn't her right out making the move or going a step further than her previous attempts. Lackluster, I guess.

Not so sure about the death sentence, but she did indeed attempt to kill her with that lake trip. Woulda personally had her take life in prison with the idea that she might have a chance to repent, but that's coming from someone who doesn't want to die and thus would rather be imprisoned rather than killed if I was in her shoes. Well, I wouldn't have done those things if I was her to begin with, but that's besides the point.

On another note, damn he's smooth(or sly, one of the two). She lost all chance of this being an objective relationship right then and there.

As already mentioned, the spotlights are more likely to be a limelight or an equivalent, which are essentially gas torches directed at quicklime to produce an intense light that can then be directed as spotlights. No electricity is required.

In regards to Mrs. Colline, I understand that she probably warranted her ultimate punishment for the setting, but I feel it's out of tone for the manhwa. It's such a fluffy piece about an overworked woman trying to enjoy her tea. Having someone executed then it moving on quickly to a love scene is strange to say the least. If they're going to have Mrs. Colline die, at least make it a serious issue, rather than having it pass by like used tea leaves.

I also don't understand as to why Mrs. Colline's backstory was somewhat shown in a sympathetic light, yet there being no resolution or even further acknowledgement of it. It's clear that if Mrs. Colline's circumstances were briefly altered, she'd not have turned out to be such a villainess. And we even knew of Mrs. Colline's motive; she did not intend to have Chloe killed, she only wished for her to be disfigured. It's not at all any nobler, but it was clearly not a purposeful attempt at murder.

Alas, I guess it's glossed over quickly enough, but I definitely tasted a bit of the bitter tea leaves in this cup of tea.

I understand a lot of people being weirded out by some of the random technology that exists in this world, but guess what? This is fantasy, they can put whatever they want in it, there should be some form of understanding of what era it is supposed to happen in, but I really wouldn't care too much if there were a decent bit of things "wrong" with it.

The spotlights could've been limelight used during the mid 1800s, but that isn't the case due to the absence of pipes supplying oxygen and hydrogen and the rotating screw. The artist just probably made a mistake.

catching up on these series and like okay she did attempt to get her killed with that whole dangerous forest business (or even if she didn't mean for her to die, like she had no way of controlling such a dangerous situation?? chloe could have died???) so i mean i'm all for her getting hanged but i like how the LAST STRAW was getting her dressed up as her husband's ex-fiancee and not the attempted murder lol (tho tbf, alphonse likes chloe a whole lot more now than when the attempted murder happened?? like he liked her by then iirc but he likes her even more now) also her whole death was like a footnote which is strangely satisfying if a bit weird lmao AND THEN THEY WENT ON TO A LOVE SCENE LIKE... DAMN SHE REALLY WAS NOTHING HUH

It’s a bit hard to emphatize with MC. She comes from the 21st century and yet she’s okay with having a maid she knew from childhood killed for ... prodding her to visit a lake. Granted, it was dangerous, but why didn’t she know? How likely was this plan to succeed anyway? Wouldn’t the butler or one of the other maids know?

There’s also the issue of OG Chloe blaming a maid for losing a certificate that she lost. I mean Chloe now makes a big fuss of righting past wrongs by people who wronged her, but why does she gloss over that?

It makes her seem like a frivolous woman. Her fun tidbits about the history of each tea is also odd. Is the history the same in that world too? Why has no one asked how she knows of this? Is it always correct? We don’t see her reading about it or anything.

At this point, the ML has more character development and history than she does.
