Why's everyone so worried about Jeremy being the male lead? Even if he doesn't love her as he would a mother, it looks more like a case where he loves her as family and respects her position as his mother/head of house.

Shuli was at the sidelines, but Elias (I think it was him) convinced her to dance. So she danced, kinda like they did in the Pride and Prejudice movie, and shock of all shocks, the Prince cuts in and becomes her partner. They talk, and she goes to the library upstairs with him to get a book for Leon. The ladder the Prince used to get the book, which was of course very high up, breaks and he lands sort of on top of her, and she hurts her hand.
Jeremy had gotten suspicious and worried when he saw them head upstairs, so he followed and realized that the Prince might like her. He was directed to the library by Mysterious and Definitely Suspicious Hooded Person and came in time to see the Prince being sort of on top of her and Shuli being hurt.
So he punched the Prince, and now there are guards pointing weapons at him for hurting the Prince. 🙃
