@megagen

BRUH im so frustrated that you lack awareness about mental health. Sorry girl, but this story focus on our FL mental health learn to understand what post-partum depression is or baby blues. It's not easy SHE WAS JUST 16 YRS OLD.

She has to DO IT for her family in a very young age she suffered FROM PRESSURE OF HER FAMILY.

Her husband left her for war while people were treating her like an OBJECT during pregnancy.

Her father got sick she can't be always be with him. And it is scary to be pregnant in that age without her husband or family moral support.

Remember the previous chapters she begged for her MOM TO BE WITH HER DURING HER TOUGHEST TIME BUT SHE CANT. Again, her father collapsed and she cant leave her estate. During harsen at war, his uncle made it more worse for her well-being cause he said those words that might trigger her anxiety more that "what IF her husband died????"

Imagine they live in an era with no cellphones or emails they wont know what is happening to them. And the doctors at those time recommend her to TAKE A STROLL TO CURE HER DEPRESSION???

Have u tried being on Limbo not getting enough sleep cause of TOO MUCH OVERTHINKING??? HAVE U EVER RECONSIDER THAT MENTAL HEALTH OF A PERSON MATTERS. DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY IS NOT LIKE A FLU THAT WOULD GO AWAY.

It's a sickness INSIDE YOUR BRAIN. 🧠 It's the mind you are battling! And it ain't easy sister that is why a lot of people committed suicide cause no one can read someone else brain like some super hero who has psychic powers! That is why people get TREATED with depression and anxiety it takes years for the person to LEARN TO CONTROL THEIR MIND. Ercella in this chapter LOST IT CAUSE SHE CANT HANDLE IT ANYMORE. Harcen have no clue what was happening cause he aint no Psychiatrist. In this chapter, she BLAMES HERSELF FROM ALL THE BLOODSHED, SHE BLAMES HERSELF THAT SHE THINKS SHE KILLED ALL THOSE PEOPLE SO HER SISTER CAN BECOME QUEEN. She blamed her ignorant choices why SHE CHOSE HARSEN.

Mental health matters remember that this STORY IS LETTING YOU LEARN THE HARSH REALITY OF MENTAL HEALTH.

LEARN. FROM. IT.

Don't try to reason yourself why she is fucked up mother neglecting her son SHE HAS BABY BLUES. (Google it, without threatment it will get worse)
Learn from people in the comment section or the ppl telling u what it feels like to have mental illness. Cause I suffered from mental illness like Ercella life aint easy.... even if u are born from a perfect family or a broken one. Mental Health develops through trauma this back story teaches YOU HER STORY, HER TRAUMAS, HER PAST. :))

When she was in the brink of death or when she died she finally had a chance to redeem herself to try and think positive FOR ONCE. And it's NOT EASY. So I am proud of our FL she is TRYING. People with mental illness trying to make themselves feel better again deserve the applause! We love you and you are NOT ALONE FIGHTING THIS BATTLE.

AGAIN. MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS.

Hope next chapter goes to the present. Its too sad for too long. But the author managed to portray perfectly why she is a tragic FL/mother who deserves a second chance.

@rinnychan98 spoke straight facts. Do y’all not know what postpartum depression is?! She had that and on top of that her situation was much crazier than any normal person. Fgs she isn’t even a fully matured woman yet and she had to have a child. She was even dragged into political issues and was forced to marry this man for her sister. No child deserves to be neglected but just take a look at the mother’s mental health before judging please!!! 😠

@megagen There is a reason why psychiatric evaluations are done in both civil and criminal cases. Mental health is no joke and it does not "excuse" the abuse, but EXPLAIN the abuse. There is a difference, if one is not of sound mind, the person cannot make sound or rational judgements. You cannot expect irrational, sick mind to make sound and healthy judgments. This is why mentally sick people can sometimes be found not guilty of crimes they commit. Because they were too sick to know better.

If y'all not taking post-partum depression or just depression in general seriously, read The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It's a short story based on Gilman herself who experienced severe post-partum depression and about a woman who goes crazy because everyone else thinks they know what's best for her.

@megagen I understand where you are coming from but think about it this way, if you were facing those same circumstances while your mental state is in shambles would you have the capacity to think soundly? I don’t think so, you would probably be feeling miserable about your current situation and would probably not have enough time or the capacity to think of other things.

wow just wow some people here still blame her?! seriously if you still cannot put the pieces together, that this manhwa is about post-partum depression a freaking form of DEPRESSION could you give us a favor just stop reading this if you still can't face the reality that this kind of situation happens in real life? Better yet, educate yourself about the topic so that you don't come off as an ignorant d*ck (sorry, not really, I'm just so fed up rn) you are just triggering people especially those who have experienced or knew someone that experienced this topic.

Edit: To those who just wants to go back to the present in this story (seen these people last ch. a lot of them too) you're just as worse, maybe even worst. In this kinds of stories contexts are really REALLY important, and these flashbacks were that much needed context. If you don't like it why are you still reading this? I don't like to put people in certain groups but I'm pretty sure everyone here knows what the type of a person you are.

I just want to give a big hug to everyone who can relate to the MC's struggles. Whether it's because you've there or know someone who has, or are just an empathising person, thank you <3

@JKBP48 isn't it because she hates the way things are in her world, like women need to get married to the best choices, for her family to get higher someone's supposed to die (and it's not clear if the king's wife really cheated or was accused falsely) and so on

@JKBP48 - Because depression is a bitch that keeps you in a spiral of ever deepening hell, with or without added traumatic events, unless you get proper external help/support or have some insanely unlikely life-changing epiphanies (such as dying and waking up 3 years prior to your death, for example). -- It probably doesn't help that she overheard her hubby conspire to frame half of the royal family, and got them wrongfully killed or disowned in the process of making her already unhappy sister into a queen after her miscarriage.

(The next chapter ends the flashbacks, and brings us back to Ercella confronting Harsen about breaking off Vicete's engagement. --** With the exception of a very brief flashback at the end to young Harsen discussing his future engagement plans with his own father.)

Kinda feel slightly bad for Harsen, though. And I mean only very, very slightly, because
he did propose to Ercella of his own will and against his father's advice. He wanted her romantically and so insisted on proposing to her. Even though he knew that for her, he was just her "best" option, (and hated hearing her say it) he tried to overlook everything she did and chose to do. He finally got angry (in the next chapter) when she said to him that she didn't want Vicete to have a marriage "without love" like theirs. Harsen be like 🤨"...oh, is that so?", 😠 "Yeah, as you say ,'without love'. Well, that's how everyone lives."
😦Just kinda felt like, damn guy, you need a hug. Or angry make-up sex.🙁

You know what, not everybody loves their kids, I'm not telling you our MC was forced (like you know, against hee will) and thus hates the son, but she as well could've been. I mean, he's the son of a man, that she didn't love at the moment of giving birth and in first-something years of his life. For her it's just a copy of her calculating husband (who even didn't spare a little princess that clearly got killed by jealous king) but WITH HER EYES ON IT
