Irregardless of the reason why she decided to abandon her child... she could have at least taken the tiny bit of effort to do so safely, even if she had to illegally drop her child off at a fire station or police box with a note. She very well could have died in the mountains, or gotten kidnapped / fell victim to human trafficking. To then say something like that afterwards... the lord may forgive but that is one steep cliff to climb for redemption from her fellow man.

it always rubbed me the wrong way that they never really investigated why this kid was neglected and abused to the point of being like, almost nonverbal at the start of the comic. i guess it makes sense because japan has a pretty bad child protection system and she wouldve been worse off if they did report it.
im worried now that the mom is gonna try to get her back for some dumb reason, and maybe accuse the family of kidnapping. its not really a comic with plot like that so maybe not but a piece of shit like her is likely to do anything.
