Whoohoo! I love the weakest character becoming stronger. Glad the mum takes action for herself.
On the other hand, every time I see the cover, the height gap bewilders me. Like that's a full head and a half taller (From FL's POV) ... For reference, using the standard human proportions of 7 1/2 heads tall, and then assuming that FL is the average Chinese female height of 158 cm (5'2), that leaves our male lead at 189.6 cm (6'3.5). (That's really tall for a Chinese guy, lol. My relatives are pretty tall for Chinese people, but I think the upper limit of my family is 6'0. My little brother bets that he'll grow to be 6'1 though, but we'll see.) And that's the shorter height. The male lead would be taller if I used the average urban height of the average Chinese woman of 162.6 cm (5'4). On the other hand, I wonder if I would end up with a dwarf if I started with the ML at the average Chinese male heights of 169.5 cm and 175.2 cm (Average Chinese man, and urban Chinese man, respectively) But I decided not to calculate because the general is clearly indicated as taller than average, while the FL seems to be average (from the tea party.)
All stats off Wikipedia, lol. And blame my random spurt of curious calculation on my ADHD, because I would rather calculate the heights of fictional characters than do my math homework... (Wow, what a long-ass comment...)

according to the raws, from what I can infer, this comes back to bite the concubine lady and the white lotus sister in the ass. Juqing exposes them as dishonorable people before a court, during a party, I think? And I think that destroyed the trash dad's reputation. He got so mad at his side hoe and the White Lotus to the point of whipping them.

And icing on the cake: I think he crawls back to Juqing's mom when he realizes who the better wife is, lmao
