So the captain knew that she was being watched by very powerful people and that they had an interest in seeing her do well and he still decided to try and kick her off the team, place the blame on her, and force her into a fight with another student. He even tried to use force against her, only now does he realize that he shouldn't try and make an enemy out of her. Well to bad for him that he already f'ed up and made it clear that he was her enemy with everything that he has done to her so far.
