I thought the same! It really wouldn't surprise me if one of the record labels sent a copy strike to the author for showing that. And now we'll forever not know what song is being played. But really I just hope it's not that
That or the author couldn't find an example that fit the dialogue. A hard rock song that changes the chord progression little at the end? :thonk: :finnawoke:

Either way we were denied an entry for the unofficial mixtape.

It's not that. The author is forcing a distance like Aya is experiencing on us by doing that. From the start we've connected with them through their shared playlist, but we aren't allowed to feel that this time.

Oh no, she turned into a music theory nerd. Come back to us, Koga-san! :qq::qq::qq::qq:
As a music theory nerd, it's one of those things where you pass the event horizon and can never come back the same

Koga may return, but her future will be composed solely of writing comments on the internet about how tired she is of Pachelbel's Canon chord progression and how underrated the least popular song by a band is solely for that diminished 7th used in an unorthodox way

Koga's going full in on music, to the point where she's kinda blocking out everything else. I've been there (with writing, not music composition), and it feels nice, but you start isolating yourself and when you become conscious of what it is your doing it feels weird and gross. You want to be doing other things, but there's friction and slowness and it would be so much easier if you could just eat and live and breath your obsession.

But you have to live life. You have to take a step back for some time a day, or a week, or a month, or even a year to focus on things that will stop you from just doing that one thing. Oosawa, you have to get them to actually have enough focus on their grades to be in a good position out of school, or else.

Glad to see realistic teen problems portrayed in a teen story though. It's not all romance all the time, sometimes it's just the mundane problems in life.
Absolutely, and Koga is exactly the kind of person who /would/ go down that rabbit hole.

And it's not helped by the fact she surely finds it a welcome escape from the stresses of school and socialising (both of which she clearly struggles with). Not that she wants to cut off her only real friend (and I do think the crushing goes both ways, so more than just a friend), but even friends can be extra social stress that can be nice to escape, even in the best of times . . .

67 chapters and .03 progress toward the ship.... It started cute and quirky but lately it's been dragging hard which is crazy cause it's a 2-4 page series so how is it so slow

I was wondering if it was specifically cause this one was getting called out like that, or alternatively 'the song stopped mattering to her when that disconnect was felt'.

Hope it's not a perm change anyways, could always go the jojo route of parody name that comments could figure out easily if it's that issue? Hopefully.

There is no legitimate intellectual property regime where writing the name of a song in this way would be considered infringement (both copyright and trademark). It's more likely your latter hypothesis, where the actual song it is doesn't matter because the disconnect was the primary point of the shot.

Also, the author may have wanted to avoid triggering a holy war on account of fans being such rational creatures and accepting of criticism :finnawoke:
