I could live with the MC being a massive cunt, and doing stuff that make literally no sense. Why is it that these revenge series always turns the MCs into an actual retards, who does more damage to their own side than the enemy.

Instead of using his magic to make a device to teleport him to earth, with what the elder witch said, that should be within his power. He decides to help humanity in making the witches go extinct, because he's an angy pissbaby, that got hurt by their motives.

Not only that, the story progress slowed to an actual crawl after the moon. I mean jesus christ, at the start of the manga, there was more progress in 2 chapter, than all the chapters after combined.

It started as an 7-8ish, and with the current slow ass progress, it's quickly falling to a 5.

Read This If You Want To Know More

I didn't read this on this site back then, wished i did so i can leave the backstory on top. There are so many wannabe critiques here that they don't even have the capacity to put 2 and 2 together or get the foreshadowing. Even in the anime, some people were pointing out "plot holes" that they just never paid attention to.

It may seem off putting to have an "edgy" mc and naive kind girl fmc. But it's worth it. It's good. These 2 characters are placed on the opposite ends of the spectrum, but they eventually grew with each other. Contrasting their character development, to meet in the middle.

I can give some more detail here, but this may or may not be spoilers. I recommend it though.
Idk if this would even be spoiler since this is a completed prequel, so i wouldn't say it's a spolier, just important emotional development.
I want to make this easy for everyone to understand.

The queen is a parallel universe version of our fmc and i think was already implied. She is Dorothea. She has her parallel mc, Alfred.

In her universe, or manga/strip/scroll, we get the usual whatever story with Alfred as mc and Dorothea as fmc.
There is also a parallel of them in this universe.
She is Queen Dorossel. I'm not sure if her man was named, but let's call him, Knight.
Zirconia is the mentor witch that was killed, just like our story now. Alfred, on a path of revenge, and Dorothea the kind one.
Unfortunately, this story has a bad ending.

The Kingdom of Caliburn
This was the title, the start of a story about a cycle from the past and to the future.
Let's start the story here.
The Queen
She is Dorossel, the witch of love, there is 1 in each universe, like how there are specific witches as shown in the story. Iirc, the witches' powers are exclusive. She was the first witch to pull out the holy sword, Caliburn, and claim the throne.

Alfred/Zirconia
Zirconia was the mentor witch that was killed(?), she had found Alfred when he was a baby. They had friends and all, they were rebels against the tyrannical Queen Dorossel. Their happy days didn't last any longer as eventually, they all sacrificed themselves to help each other escape from pursuers, leaving only Alfred and Zirconia. Then, she too had to sacrifice herself. Her last words to him, "I love you." This man sets out for revenge just like our story.

Dorothea
Dorothea was on a journey to rescue her father or lighten his sentence after being arrested. I don't exactly remember much about her, but we get to know more later on. She is, indeed, the Queen that we know of now in The Kingdom Of Ruin.
1) The Story
The story begins with these two meeting and have their journey due to circumstances.
At first, just like our current story, these two were like fire and water. Alfred on his path of revenge while Dorothea, probably somewhat like the fmc we know of, like Doroka. Eventually, they get to know more about each other on their journey.
(Skipped some stuff of their journeys)
2) The truth
Queen Dorossel wasn't actually the one who pulled out the sword. It was because of the baby in her womb. This baby inherited the power of the witch of love. (You may have been thinking, "but a witch's power is exclusive," well, the answer would be that the Queen is from a parallel universe, her child is the real witch of love for this universe). By now in the story, you should know who else is the witch of love, Dorothea. She is actually Dorossel's child. A child Dorossel had no choice but to have because of her plans.
Alfredo realizes that the girl he has been traveling with is the daughter of his sworn enemy. But, he still travels with her.
(Iirc only a witch/woman(?) can kill the queen)
3) Finale
They reach their destination.

"We've finally made it this far."

"This is all her fault... my real mother."

Alfred stands close to Dorothea, trying to protect her from the people who look at her with fear and anger. Dorothea declares that she will restore the world to its former state.

Alfred looked back on their journey so far, and told Dorothea how her kindness had saved him so many times.

The two finally come face to face with Queen Dorossel.

The Queen looks at Alfred with an ecstatic expression and says that her whole life, even giving birth to an unwanted child, was all for the sake of getting her loved one back.
4)The End
Dorothea opposes the Queen, who is wielding the love spell "Armament (Ruin)," with the same love spell "Binding (Mandrake)."

However, Dorothea is defeated, and Queen Dorossel leaves with Alfred's head.
<swipe for more>

Alfred believed that Dorothea would now be freed from his revenge and would bring kindness to the world.
<swipe for more>
Alfred, who is now only a head, gently sheds tears. Dorothea wails and calls him a liar.

After obtaining Alfred's head, Dorossel heads to the Headless Knight seated deep inside the castle.

As she gently placed the incarnated head on that body, Alfredo's red hair turned pure white, and her beloved, unaware knight was brought back to life.

The knight calls Dorossel a princess, embraces her, and gently lifts her up.

Dorossel happily tells the knight that she has had a "little adventure," and the knight smiles kindly at Dorossel.
<swipe for more>

Having lost Alfred, Dorothea embraces his headless body and makes a vow.
<swipe for more>
She was going to bring him back to life no matter what.
Even if it means killing him in another world.

The end.

I don't know if I should even sympathize. Especially knowing that the Queen was once a kind girl too. She lost her loved one and broke. Then the Queen's happiness when reunited, leaves a feeling of panging, we get to see some longing expressions. It's a happy and sad ending that carries on to the next. For the cycle to break, one of them will have a full bad ending.

Let's hope the manga ends well.

Like imagine our mc gets killed and our girl here is in grief as she travels to another universe to do the same after losing her mind.

I like this series because it's as if there's hidden lore. But idk if I can find what's left of the original story anymore.

I should have written this first.
This is not just another manga, it's like a sequel that's missing a prequel, it may be deeper than it looks. Whether it's good or not, depends on the execution and conclusion.

This manga is not for edgy people. You only get most of that in the early chapters. Don't be surprised when you see a wholesome scene.

For the non edgy people. It isn't edgy all the way and the mc is actually sympathetic to an extent. He starts to get along with Doroka.

I just remembered that people complain about the revenge when it toned down(just admit it, y'all are edgy). Yet, some complained when it's edgy. Then some complained that it's shit if it's going to just be that especially since the mcs are opposites. Yet, some still complain when we get a wholesome scene or when they do well together.

I hope you know you just described a giant pile of garbage. None of that makes anything better. If anything it makes it worse lol. You do you though. You're allowed to like garbage.

A lot of the titles I have found very early on and liked have ended up becoming great hits. More than half a decade later, even overrated as an anime, which is ironic that you’re telling me I like garbage. But you do you, anything to feel good about yourself. Most of the people I have found so far who hates this title are just wannabe edge lords. You can’t fool me, I’ve had people arguing about this so similarly that it’s crazy that they all, if not you too, lack in reading comprehension. So tell me, what make you think this is garbage? Your response is basically like, “you have your points but I’ll be dismissive and give my general opinion with no backing.

Btw to yall, I’m not saying this is a great story, but it’s better than a lot of your generic trashisekai/fantasy. Without all those cliche shit. It just has deep lost lore and it’s interesting. But also tragic. Ngl I may even like the tragic ending of the previous story better as it’s refreshing for a non happy conclusion for once. Again, whether it’s great or not is subjective, and as a whole it depends. But my point is that this is more than just your edgy bait. Again, if you want revenge stories, this isn’t for you.
