In the LN this is sort of undercut in that the King was fully considering - with Duke Magenta's support - to make Anise Queen after him, a version of Anise which can/is cold, calculating and callous but which would make her an effective ruler, even if it would be against her wishes but it doesn't happen here - or at least hasn't yet.

The king and Lord Gran had that discussion already a while ago, actually.

Onto the chapter, now, I guess even if she's not accomplished enough to be a true researcher, Euphie can certainly become a social shield- and since she'll be actively showing off research plans, that's going to head off all the accusations that Anis is just building a harem in her palace.

Poor Algard has gotta be fuming though, Anis took both his girlfriends now LOL

I like that they discussed, but casually go on with the fact they're housing a real deal and it has an urge to suck blood.
Hope they will work on substitute soon or they will run out of maids to settle her thirst before Ministry of Magic burn her on the stake...

I don't trust this ministry, and also, I never really understood why you can't just refuse an official summons. Like, just say no, and if they drag you there, well that's unlawful imprisonment or kidnapping and is a crime. Whatever, fuck those ministry pricks! Our girl worked hard to get those materials and she deserves every last bit of them. Fuck you and your theological bullshit ministry!
