Oh my stars and garters, they have handkerchiefs and candy and water, waiting for her, she's so cute she's already charmed them!

Yeah, this family is going to work out just fine. The duchess is already having tons of fun with her new daughter and pretty much all the servants adore her, and she's certainly someone who would appreciate them far more than any normal noble could.

I could totally believe that even if the duchess didn't adopt her, one of the servants totally would.

P.S. Good for Mr. Chef.

The author shouldn't have trivialized the wounds on the main character. At least leave a few marks or scars as reminders of her struggles.

"Will she cry?" "She's going to cry" THEY WERE ALL READY TO WIPE HER TEARS AND GIVE HER CANDY AND COMFORT HER OMG

AND THE CHEF

ugasfjgkl I loVE THEM SO MUCH ALREADY
Also, lol Beth thinking she was only 5... oh boy.

@Drinkfist I assumed that it was because the Duchess' scar was very old ? And Leslie's scar is pretty recent so... or maybe the Duchess doesn't want to be healed? Wants to keep her scar to remember the moment or remember the person who betrayed her? Who knows...

But why would a Duchess from a family older than the Empire itself be lacking in healers when she obtained the scar? It doesn't add up at first glance, so there must be quite the story to it no? 🧐

To be honest, I would have preferred if she kept the scars. It's one of the reasons why the duchess adopted her in the first place (seeing the similarities between herself and Leslie), acts as a reminder of her sordid past/treatment and adds a flair to her character design to make her more distinctive from some of the other characters aside from the obvious purple eyes and white hair. The parallels between her and the duchess is such a big plot point that it seems really strange to me that the author just decided to scrap it entirely. It's kind of like if William from Saihate no Paladin were to just heal his burns on his hands out of nowhere. The events that actually caused the injury would instantly become less impactful/memorable were it just hand waved away by magic.

People talking about the Duchess's scars.
It's magic my dude. If you're going to betray a fucking giant, you want to be sure she's dead. Use strong magic and shoot it at her face to make sure she dies. It didn't work, but it's probably not something that she could heal away.

Leslie also got burnt by magic fire, but she was also protected by the spirits in that fire.
