I dunno.... With her using magic to record what happened, it can still be said as defamation. After all, the records came from memories and not from reality, so, she could still be accused of fabricating those records unless she can prove otherwise. It's politics, you know? And, well.... I guess when you have power, you just can say anything you want and accuse those without political power to bring them down when they're gonna be a thorn to your arse. And this doesn't change whether you're in a democratic system, feudalism, or communism, or whatever system. All you have to do is to be in power and change the narrative, play the victim card, etc. I suppose, when it comes to politics, I just can't rest easy and will always expect the worst out of people.

Having read the WN:
Yes. Her legs are spread wider than a (insert politically targeted reference here).

The WN was pretty brutal. The manga only briefly alluded to what the original/body-hijacked "Star Maiden" (can't recall if spoiler or not) had to go through. And demons, prior to Remilia coming to their aid. The WN doesn't pull any punches. It's a grimdark universe worthy of being countered by a "Villainess with a capital V".

I will say the art of the "gods" in this manga is great. Although it perhaps could do with less melodrama/exposition/evil cackling. The Remilia of the WN was a lot more cold, efficient, calculating, and brutal. Here, it looks like she's softer/getting swayed.

The only thing I didn't like about the novel were the others characters perspective.
It was well written, the characters themselves were the problem. They were all (for the most part) gross.
