It’s not only the fight against the assassins, in basically every combat until now (except some goblins she trained on during the travels) she was not in control and usually have to force her skills to perform at a higher tier. Just as an example we have the bandit hunt where she fought the leader, here in the manga it looked like she was in full control and it was over in a couple of panels, but it was actually really close as she had to optimise her stamina and the bandit were really good at aiming for her.

There isn’t much off-time in the LN either, there’s like one arc that’s a bit slower but we’re far from that. Training time is mostly skipped now as she gets more training while in combat.
She stated the fight with the bandit leader took hours while he slowly bled out. We just didn't see most of it in the manga.

So this "mission" ends with Alicia faking her death after a misunderstanding with the paranoid Grave. I guess this is a start of a new phase for her, away from the noble-employed combat maid lifestyle she's been living for a while. I didn't expect this chain of events to end this way, so now I wonder how it will go for her from here.

This very site links the novel.

It does feel quite off that MC is so invested in the princess, they had 1? Scene together talking on a balcony, thats enough for her to abandon all safety and dive into noble society of schemes and assassinations? Like please, does the princess have a charm cheat or what.
They didn't just have 1 encounter. They have been spending time together from the moment the princess came. As they spent time together, she realized that the princess was also a victim of the unreasonable adults and the world. It made her feel like they are comrades in that dark world.

Also, it's not like she was around nobles and assassinations because of the princess. It was the adventurer guy from ch 7 who first brought her to the noble world. And she was no stranger to killing her enemies from the beginning. She simply add the enemy of her comrade to her own list.

men in fmc stories are annoying. if you are smarter than them or not a stereotype its "i think i like you" or "who are you really?". i deadass think the manga skipped some details bc he has no reason to kill her just because she's a prodigy. crazy thing is shes on leave she doesnt care what you got going on

Is it just me or does this so called final boss villainess's older self look oddly similar to the reincarnator woman from the first chapter of the manga?
