2spirit actually responded to someone? Wow, maybe she’s turning over a new lea-

the disappearance of the species is a triumph for gun lovers.

Nope, lol.

Hunting is used for population control and for food more than just game. Hence why you can only hunt in certain seasons.

If you hunt a species into extinction, it means you can’t hunt it anymore, which is not something that they would celebrate

Pretty sure this is just an attempt to demonize hunters, which is strange from someone who is tied to Native Alaskans. Who couldn’t grow food so had to hunt.

The local tribal clinic has vaccines; I'll sign up when I have time.

Nah, don’t trust the White Man’s medicine. Just rub some herbs and eat some blue skull cap mushrooms, that’ll cure COVID

That's kinda bigoted of you, Timur.
And before you start, I realize you're bulling her because of her equally bigoted views on white people, but this is going overboard.

COVID-19 incidence is higher among American Indians/Alaska Natives (AI/ANs) than among non-Hispanic Whites. In 2009, AI/ANs experienced disproportionately high pandemic influenza A(H1N1)–associated mortality.

Based on data from 14 participating states, age-adjusted COVID-19–associated mortality among AI/ANs was 1.8 times that among non-Hispanic Whites. Among AI/ANs, mortality was higher among men than among women, and the disparity in mortality compared with non-Hispanic Whites was highest among persons aged 20–49 years.

Agreed - as a"'Murrican hwite girl", I'd rather tough it out, assuming I ever manage to get it.

This is someone who double masked before CDC suggested double masking, btw - because work mandated we have to wear those cheap, single-ply medical masks made in China rather than our own because people don't know what washing clothes is in my city. 👀

How immature. I expected better of someone who larps as a monk-philosopher.

I think that this is a misreading why I try to reference philosophy like Taoism or Buddhism in that I think they present a compelling argument or framework that most people haven’t considered and that speaks to a fundamental truth. It’s not me “larping” by presenting their points in relation to the conversation. (Plus I know you’re trying to frame it as I’m being pseudo intellectual by referencing them in support of a point, but I would just recommend countering the point itself)

Also, given some “monk philosophers” like Diogenes and Laozi were definitely shitposters and full of sass, I think you might want to reconsider what you mean exactly.

@Tamerlane Nah. She blocked you. You know that, yet you insist on replying to her every message. Cringe, but whatever.
My issue is that your last message was really out of character after all the profound enlightenment you dumped on us.

Were they circlejerking about one girl who ignored their bunch? If yes, you should consider finding new role models.

Because she keeps saying really dumb shit, and it’s fun to argue against.

I don’t care if she never responds, it’s just good to engage with oppositional points of view and prospectives as to not let yourself fall into an echo chamber.

Plus I respond to you just as often, as well as others, so it’s not like I target her specifically.

My issue is that your last message was really out of character after all the profound enlightenment you dumped on us.
God forbid I ever make a joke at the expense at anyone else, especially if it’s to underlie a point. You’re the last person that wants to tone police someone, my dude.

Besides, I could probably argue that your sass is just rubbing off on me, if nothing else.

Were they circlejerking about one girl who ignored their bunch?
Well, Diogenes was known for his public masturbation in order to grab people’s attention, and he was known for harassing Plato constantly, especially with plucked chickens

More to the point, if someone makes bad arguments consistently, I will address them and discuss them. I have challenged the points of everyone who consistently posts here at one point or another, it’s just I’ve consistently had more grievances with her points specifically.

This really sounds like “LEAVE BRITTANY ALONE” to me, or “STOP STOP SHE’S ALREADY DEAD!”

"Sen. Bernie Sanders' last-ditch effort to reattach a $15 minimum wage provision to the Senate coronavirus relief package failed Friday morning after 8 members of the Democratic caucus joined all 50 Republicans in voting down the Vermont senator's amendment."

called It:
And after the next 4 years of nothing substantial being done and Tucker Carlson or QAnon Shaman getting the presidency, same could happen to the democratic party as well.
Let's get mad!

its a bit off topic but have you guys heard about the HR1 bill that the media has been drooling over?
here is some of what the bill does:
HR1
federalizes all elections
forces all states to implement:

early voting- its voting day not voting month early voting should only be fore people who medically cannot go to polls. voting early also maximizes the chance of voter regret due to major events commonly occurring between the start of early voting and voting day

automatic voter registration- auto-registers voters based off DMV and welfare offices. this includes illegal immigrants, underaged voters, and can register people multiple times possibly allowing a single person to have multiple votes by accident

same-day registration- drags out the election process since not only do they need to count votes they need to separate votes from people who didnt register, register them, then count the vote.

online voter registration- since the registration isnt attached to a state record such as driver license a bot can make thousands of voters with ease.

no-fault absentee balloting.- changes laws to allow for voting from outside their precincts and outlaws voter id requirements meaning a signature from ben dover in the mail of an election is counted without question

add a provision the the voting rights act that prevent interference with registering or voting that is so vague it will likly interfere with lawful activity such as poll watching

changes the number of Federal Election Commission members from six to five, allowing the political party with three commission seats to engage in partisan enforcement activities

Require states to restore the ability of felons to vote the moment they are out of prison

forces an “independent” commission for redistricting. the voters have no say who is a past of this commision and requires by law that the alien population be counted in redistricting efforts

if you thought 2020 was a slog imagine what would happen if this bill got passed. thank god it will at least die in the senate

Raising the minimum wage on the federal level (Besides arguably being unconstitutional as congress only has the ability to regulate interstate commerce, which means that unless your job goes between state lines, the federal minimum wage isn't really a concern, though there are concerns in regards to how exactly Congress can pass minimum wage laws.)* is probably a bad idea during COVID for several reasons

For starters, the US has a very different economy across statelines, if not district lines, meaning that one area's economy versus another's is going to be very different. A $15 minimum wage might be better for large cities or for large corporations, which can afford the price and have higher rates of inflation due to the increased demand, but not for small businesses or small towns, which can not afford without laying off employees and raising prices.

Additionally, it risks the issue of incentivizing companies to replace more workers with machines and automating more jobs, which will mean that the issue of that there will be more demand for jobs than supply will only continue into the future, as it remains an issue into the modern day.

So a sudden hike in minimum would really only benefit the bourgeois and not benefit employment or working class people, and might harm them in the long run due to issues relating to rising in prices all across the board due to increased production costs affecting supply. (Not just because you have to pay your workers more, but the truck drivers and the people who produce their own goods) which would also create incentive to ship more jobs overseas. So yeah, bad idea to make that jump, especially in the middle of a pandemic. I'd suggest rising it only by a few dollars at a time, like closer to $10 an hour.

*To specify this point a bit further, minimum wage laws were repeatedly struck down by the Supreme Court until Co. v. Parrish overturned that decision and allowed the Fair Labor Standards Act to pass under the Commerce Clause of the Constitution with United States v. Darby Lumber Co. upholding it in the Supreme Court, which later got expended with amendments for any form of government employment and EPA, though it still hasn't been tried again in court. The last time the court expanded it was in 2009 due to the economic recession, for reference, and did not immediately increase the minimum wage to $7.50 but slowly increased the wages over time.

@readingsit

That bill is an outright attempt to rig every election in favor of the democrats from here on out. The fact people aren't making more a fuss about it is scary to me.

same here. thats why i wanted to spread some of its info around. if democrats ever hold complete control of all 3 branches they will never let that control go and HR1 is a testament to that

"Voting regret" is such a stupid point against the bill. I'm willing to bet that the number of people who change their mind after voting and before counting is statistically insignificant.
Either way sucks to suck, lol.

Who cares if illegal immigrants vote exactly? I mean, they live in the country, they pay taxes, they work (probably more than you). The only difference between them and you, is that you crawled out your mother's demonic American vagina, and they were born in a country devastated by American imperialism.
And with regards to underaged voters being registered to vote: I highly doubt that they are actually going to do that, it would give dems too much of an advantage (democrats don't actually want to win as that would mean actually having to do something for once)

Also felons still live in your country, so should still have a say in the laws that affect them. Pretty sure most felons in the USA are done in for drug charges (something that shouldn't be illegal anyways)

The thing about the bots is stupid also BTW. What do you think someone is going to register a bunch of people to vote and then show up to vote like: "uhhhh... yeah I'd like to cast my 500 ballots please thankyou clerk", or do you think that they'd show up wearing various fake moustaches throughout the voting period? Perhaps none at the post office will notice when thousands of ballots are being mailed out to a one bedroom apartment?
Get real.

Look at what the bill contains again. It's going to get rid of gerrymandering, something so obviously undemocratic it makes me audibly laugh looking at these districts.
See Dan Crenshaw's below R)
lossless-page1-1200px-Texas_US_Congressional_District_2_%28since_2013%29.tif.png

It also introduces some campaign finance reforms (the real reason that your favourite commentators tell you to get mad at it)
like limiting foreign lobbying, and forcing super PACs to disclose their donors.
It also supports overturning Citizens United. (the overtly corrupt decision by the supreme court to open the floodgates for corporate donors in politics, making the expenditures unlimited)

Just look at who is against the bill. The Heritage foundation being the big one. Ring any bells? They are they guys who have been making America as plutocratic as they possibly can since Reagan.

You've been duped into thinking this bill is scary-oh-no-bad, when in reality it is just a plaster being placed on the gaping wound that is US "democracy".

Illegal immigrants would get the right to vote.
How else are the Democrats going to stay relevant when their base is becoming increasingly disillusioned with them?

Not to mention the fact that the Republicans are having a Latino and Asian renaissance due to the Democrats’s obsessions with black people and constantly lashing out at others on behalf of black people.

If you told me sixteen years ago that my vote could very likely be watered down by a non-citizen’s vote (an illegal alien), I’d tell you that the US ceased to exist as a sovereign nation and became an autonomous zone for the international community’s wealthy and poor.

@tamerlane
This isn’t aimed at you, it’s aimed at those who want a higher minimum wage.

Raising the minimum wage is dumb.

$15 -> $20 = less hires to save costs and inflation due to more cash flowing in the economy mixed higher prices to offset employer costs.

The people who want this already complain about not having a job or making enough to make ends meet. What makes you think this solution is going help avoid inflation or prevent employers from laying you off or hiring less people so that they can afford this stuff?

I look at leftist economic policy all the time and it’s always so short sighted and fixated on idealistic nonsense like “more taxes will benefit us all” or “corporations will certainly love paying their employees more money.”

News Flash:
Taxes are a net negative.
The more you pay in theft, the less likely you are to benefit from them.

>muh roads
Most of that stuff is outsourced anyways, might as well go all the way let the market handle it.
>muh tolls
Why do you think you need guns?
>muh social services
Let nature take its course, the planet is overpopulated as is.
>muh education
You aren’t learning anything beyond how to be a drone in school anyways. Apprenticeships need to come back.
>muh cops
You don’t trust them anyways, so why do you care?

“But I want healthcare!!!!”
Do you really trust the government to give you anything of note beyond a bandaid and a juice box with a dope drawing of Spider-Man on it?

>muh socialism
>muh Nordic system
>muh Sanders
>muh utopia
Enjoy your 65% taxation working class.
Enjoy your 75% taxation middle class.

“Noooooo we must cannibalize the wealthy!!”
Cool, now you’ve detonated the economy.
Welcome to Communism 101 and why intelligent people say Socialism is the gateway to Communism.

@halo
>thinking Carlson will run for office
He won’t and if you think he’d give up his cushy job as a pundit for a shit job (sitting in the White House), you’re wrong.
>qanon shaman
You bring that guy up quite a lot. Are you, perchance, obsessed with this dude and his undeniable devotion to his country?

Regardless of what you believe, he loves his country and wants what he personally thinks is best for his country.

Are you going to shame people for loving their country now, Halo?

Americans have to suffer on behalf of their government because of Imperialism.
Carlos from South America and Abdul from India are more welcome here than Paul and Jon from Illinois because checks quote “sexist comments about American women.”
Love and Tolerance, amirite?
